Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The architecture of the hotel, the old stones, the exclusivity of the view from the terrace on the plain. The service - the right proportion between helpfulness and discretion . The breakfast absolutely great

RomaniaThe hotel is in a traditional house specific to the area, impeccably restored. Extraordinarily pleasant and English speaking staf. Diverse and very delicious breakfast served impeccably. All this, from the transfer of the luggage from the taxi (with the help of the donkey) to the extraordinary position and the interior design of the hotel, made us have an extraordinarily pleasant stay in this special city of Turkey.

FranceRatio price / quality is good but I find the price a bit expensive for an hotel in Turkey, this is generally "cheaper". Not important topic, but shower is only protected by a curtain, glass window would be more comfortable.
Very nice stay in a perfectly located hotel. Team is very nice and cordial, always intending to make the stay better. Breakfast is typical turkish breakfast, very generous.

RussiaThe bathroom area is tiny, it was very difficult to take shower. And the water pressure was very poor. In winter it so very cold.
It was a good idea to stay at such an authentic hotel. The location is perfect and next to all city must-visit places. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast should be noted especially (10 of 10). It was perfect and very tasty. The breakfast-area is very nice. The hotel is very cosy and stylish, highly recommended for travel with friends and family. Taking into account that the building is old, you should take pyjamas, because it can be a little cold in the morning though the air-conditioning works very well.

North MacedoniaAs soon as you step into the courtyard of the hotel, you feel a sense of calm and harmony. It is a small boutique hotel with 7 rooms made with love and in authentic style. Breakfast is wonderful and most importantly they serve until 11 o'clock. The courtyard is a real place to enjoy whether it is morning coffee or in the evening hours of wine or beer. Maybe what makes this place really magical are the three guys who take impeccable care of the guests, always in the mood to help with a smile that comes from the heart, and even know how to play instruments and sing if the guests do not mind. Although I can write a lot more about Mardin and this hotel, I would simply recommend that you visit them and let them caress your senses 😊

GermanyThe hotel is housed in a historic building, so that the toilet is basically housed in a smell niche in the wall and the shower is in the room itself. It was impossible to shower without flooding parts of the room or even the lobby in our case. Room cleaning is only upon request and only 12-2 pm. Nobody will tell you upon arrival.
The rooms look exactly like on the pictures. The breakfast is great. We were offered a generous early check-in and got an early breakfast due to our departure time.

DenmarkEverything was so perfect. Nothing to complain.
The hotel had such tasty design and interior. The placement was great in the center and quiet place to sleep. The bed, the details, the bathtub, the round gorgeous ceiling in room 106 was so esthetically beautiful. The stuff was incredibly nice, polite and kind. The breakfast was the best breakfast I ever had at hotels...and I travel a lot 😉 I just love it.

GermanyThe only thing I can fault is there is a little information missing that would have been helpful. For example, they provide bubble bath for the copper tubs, however they keep it at reception and we didn't know this until afterwards. Also, I didn't see the wifi password written anywhere.
This was one of the best stays we've had. We stayed in the superior suite and the room is exactly like it was in the pictures, absolutely stunning with an incredible view. We saw several of the other rooms though and they all look great as well. The breakfast was exceptional, with a wide range of traditional options. The staff were amazing, they helped carry our suitcases up to the hotel and again to the room and gave us a list of places to see in and around the city. My girlfriend is Turkish, but they still didn't mind speaking some English for my benefit. The location is perfect, right in the middle of the old town, with amazing restaurants, museums and sites all within a 5 minute walk. The wine was a bit pricey, however still delicious. I can't recommend Mirsoum highly enough, if you're staying in Mardin, you should definitely stay here.
