    Nothing really

Really nice boutique hotel, the hotel staff were lovely. They arranged trips to Gobleke Tepe and Halfeti. We were very impressed and do recommend this place to other travellers

It is hard to find fault at this very reasonable price.

Despite my arriving unexpectedly, and considerably in advance of the normal check-in time, the owner not only went to the trouble of having my room cleaned and made available early at no extra charge, but also provided me with refreshments while I waited. This episode captures the helpful and welcoming attitude I experienced throughout my stay. The accommodation comprises two atmospheric, centuries-old buildings that have been renovated to provide modern facilities, including powerful, piping-hot showers. It was a pleasure, at sundown, to sit back on the terrace above the courtyard with a cold beer in hand and views of Ulu Cami and across the rooftops of the old town. The hotel is located just a short walk from the castle and Gölbaşı areas, and help is available to arrange taxis and tours to Göbeklitepe and beyond for modest rates.

The main drawback - for me at least - was the 3-hour nonstop evening 'music' that blares out across the old town. A ghastly, never-ending cacophony of bashing and crashing from 20.00 thru til 23.00. Although this has nothing to do with the Hotel per se, it is up to all the hotels together to complain if they want people like me to return! Also for the first 3 days the wifi was iffy.

Memet proved to be a more than welcoming owner and whatever problem I had was quickly solved. The staff is excellent, especially young Hossein, who was charming, efficient, all in all a ray if sunshine. Breakfast was very good as well. I had a great room and shower.

It was recently renovated but it's an old building so the bathrooms are damp and some rooms don't have windows. There were also problems with getting hot water.

Great place, and the manager Tarek was very friendly.

We were a bit surprised during the check-in when we learnt we would not be able to get the room we actually booked. However, this was not really in the hand of the owner, and the staff did everything to make us feel pleased. The building is beautiful with an original architecture and an inner yard. The beds were comfy and the breakfast was quite good. The staff members were nice and friendly: they took the time to tell us the history of the surroundings and gave us recommendations on what to do, where to eat, etc. (Thank you again, Mehmet Bey and team for your hospitability!) The historical city center and the market place is 5-10 mins walk away from the hotel. There is also a free private parking area just next to the hotel, run by nice people. Feels like everyone knows and look after each other in the area. Hopefully next time our stay will be a longer one, and we'll have time to discover more of the beautiful city of Urfa. Looking forward!

Staff very nice and always ready to accommodate. Very clean and comfortable rooms, especially in summer time as the old architecture naturally protects from the heat. It would be nice to have a café/restaurant in the main interior courtyard. I came back at 9h30 pm at night and didn’t know to whom to ask a tea

    WIFI worked very poorly.

Wonderful place. We were delighted. The room is beautiful. On Saturday there was a Turkish feast with music on the roof. It ended after 11pm so it wasn't very bothersome. Parking next door belonged to the hotel, no extra charge. Delicious breakfast. The lady was flooding us with other delicacies every now and then. She brought cheese and tomatoes to the table. We tasted the traditional scrambled eggs with hot sausage and the other one with only vegetables. The ladies (probably mother and daughters) did not speak English, but were very polite and willing to communicate. With the help of an interpreter's goggles, it was possible.

There is absolutely nothing that the hotel can do about this but there is some kind of cultural centre located next door where traditional Turkish live music is performed every evening between 8:30-11:00 (with half hour break at 9:30). If you are sitting out in the courtyard it is quite loud and dominant and can also be heard inside the rooms. We initially found the music to be excessively intrusive but, after our first evening, very quickly came to find it quite enjoyable (particularly the music on our final night).

Really lovely hotel, gloriously historic, exactly like the photographs. The staff are the nicest people, extremely friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The location is excellent in Sanliurfa old town, just 5-10 minutes walk from the Balikligol historic area. Breakfast is excellent with the most delicious scrambled eggs and spicy Turkish omelette accompanied by a range of salad items, cheese, breads etc. We were here for our 40th wedding anniversary and booked the King Suite which was gorgeous.

I cannot think of anything that I did not like.

This hotel is full of character! Our room was spacious, air conditioned and the refrigerator worked well. when we asked for a kettle, they gave us food straight away with cups and tea spoons. The hosts and kitchen staff were brilliant and helpful, arranging for our laundry to be dry cleaned and ironed, helping us to change money and to collect a parcel from the city centre. We asked for extra melon and some local spicy eggs for our kahvaltï (breakfast) and both of these were given within moments of us asking. these are just a few examples of the outstanding and friendly service we received. The hotel is a very short walk away from the shops and a brisk five minute walk to the birthplace of prophet Abraham (Ibrahim). The Balikligöl is within this mosque complex whilst the Prophet Job’s patience place- Eyup sabr makam- is a short taxi drive away.

Not the best value for money (especially compared to other hotels we stayed in during our trip). Communication with hotel staff was a bit complicated, as no one spoke English. I would recommend basic room cleaning/towel replacement without needing to ask, and also starting breakfast a bit earlier to allow for making most of the cool mornings for sightseeing etc. (though the staff did their best to accommodate us in this respect).

Charming hotel, perfectly located, with parking right outside. Somewhat quirky but imposing room, nice breakfast.

Palmyra Boutique Hotel is a sweet and architecturally beautiful stone crafted building set in a perfect location so close to all the major sites. The rooms were super clean, breakfast was excellent. They were very accommodating for my daughter’s food allergy and even bought up herbal tea to our room when she wasn’t feeling well. The staff were so attentive, friendly and hospitable. We had an amazing stay at this hotel. We loved Sanliurfa, the people and the hotel so much. Our only regret was not staying longer. We will definitely be back to stay here again.

We had to wait too long for the hot water to get hot in one of the rooms.

The accommodation is in the old town of Urfa in a traditional building with nice patio. Close to Balik Gol. A private parking next-door, free for Palmyra's guests. Big rooms, tastefully decorated, immaculate. Excellent breakfast prepared just for us. Friendly staff. Perfect WiFi.
