Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

JapanThe elevator is not available but receptionist will help to carry bags to upstairs.
Value for the money, staff is very friendly. Location is walking distance from the old city centre and all the tourist attractions. Hotel itself is not easy to reach by car because of the small roads and traffic but taxis will take you there.

SwedenThe fridge was very small and some personal stuff like tooth brush & tooth paste were not included or facial wash liquid was not included. No iron we could find in the room. Maybe we could ask the staff but we didn't. There was street noise/ shouting at night but all gone close to 12 am and afterwards
The staff were very kind and very supportive. They let us have the room earlier than normal check in time. The room and beds were quite clean. The hotel was quiet at night to have a convenient sleep. We liked breakfast as well with different foods. Also we were quite happy with the location of the hotel in terms of being close to the city center, having easy access to famous attractions and easy transportation across city.

United KingdomNothing. Just to be aware that it is a steep walk up to Sultanahmet Square, Grand Bazaar and surrounding areas, however public transport links are close by if needed.
The warm and generous hospitality of Adem and all the staff made our stay. They really took care of us and went the extra mile when I was unwell, which was so appreciated. The room was spotless, simple but had everything we needed. The breakfast buffet was substantial. The hotel is located on a quieter side street so we were not bothered by noise from the main road.

BulgariaThe attitude of the owner was extremely kind. We got everything we needed for our stay. In addition, we were answered all questions about arranging our sightseeing tours in the surrounding area and were given recommendations for places to eat. The hotel was very nice and cozy. The breakfast was varied enough. There was a parking lot near the hotel, which is used for hotel guests at preferential prices.

United KingdomThe area is very much a typical busy Istanbul street - where you can find an open market, street vendors, shops and the like, all intermingled in one big melting pot. While the side street the hotel is on is very quiet, you might found some of the surroundings a bit of a sensory overload. If you're not looking for something authentic, this might not be the place for you.
I thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of the people running the hotel, which has been extraordinary, in particular Adem's, the manager. Throughout the journey, he made sure that every request I had was sorted out and helped with recommendations for the city. The hotel is clean and provides everything you would want on your trip. A simple yet varied breakfast, a quiet authentic Turkish closed street and a comfortable room. The staff try their utmost to keep the place a quiet and family-friendly place, which makes a huge difference.

FranceIncredible hospitality and kindness, the generous breakfast, comfortable and spotless room. Loved the location. It's perfect on so many levels. Its within walking distance of most tourist attractions, while being authentic, and untouristic. The people in the stores and on the streets around were warm and friendly and helpful and the stores and restaurants are not the tourist traps you can find in other places.

HungaryThere wasn't anything we did not like. It's true that the surrounding buildings are a bit rundown but despite the area's modest appearance we always felt safe and had a comfortable stay.
The hotel offers a blend of comfort and convenience for travellers. With clean, stylish rooms featuring A/C, kettle, and complimentary tea and coffee, it provides a cozy retreat. It is situated in an authentic neighborhood of Istanbul, within walking distance of major attractions in a safe area. The friendly owner is ready to assist guests, from organizing transfers to providing helpful local tips. Since we were leaving early, on the last day we got packed breakfast on request, ensuring a great start to our day. They serve a diverse breakfast, catering to different tastes and preferences. Hotel Ramparts is clean and stylish, with all the essential amenities. Its prime location, safety, and dedicated owner make it an excellent choice for a memorable stay in Istanbul.

RomaniaHotel area may seem a little more strange, but it is safe and you will not have any problems there.
The hotel offers very good accommodation conditions. Clean rooms, good breakfast with various products, and the staff is very friendly. Mr. Adem is helpful in any situation and offers advice for a pleasant stay. If you go by car, there is a private parking lot in front of the hotel, for a fee (7 euros/day) and you can leave the car without worries.

Saudi ArabiaDon't expect a fancy hotel with a swimming pool. It is just a comfortable, safe, and clean place to sleep in and have your breakfast in the morning, which, by the way, could be more versatile. However, I had no complaint about it myself.
I would definitely stay again in the same hotel next time, mainly because of Mr. Adam. In such a country where they love their own language in a way they hardly speak any other languages, you really need a supportive and understanding friend like Mr. Adam. Mr. Adam will make you feel at home. He will make better reservations for you without any commission. He even paid $ 3 (out of 43$) from his own pocket for me when I had no change. The room itself is clean, quite (although my rooms were on the 1st floor), it has good AC, and hot/cold water in the oderless bathroom. The location is good if you want to stay within walking distance from all the historic parts of the city. You will be close to public transportation as well. You just have to consider that you might have to walk a little bit. The hotel was a great value for money.

Room was confy, big enough for 3 of us, with really comfortable mattreses and big bathroom with great shower with welcome gifts in the fridge waiting for you. Location of hotel is what I also like very much.
