Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ChinaIn Cappadocia, which is full of stone and desert, it is amazing to find such an exquisite but pristine cave-style hotel. The hotel took seven years to design from an original, very memorable old cave into a boutique hotel, very design, but also very comfortable, is a rare resort hotel here. The breakfast was delicious, the view of the roof bar was beautiful, and it was wonderful to have a drink there in the afternoon when the sun was setting.

SwitzerlandNothing, we can fully recommend this place. Somthing worth mentionning: Urgup is way lest touristic than Goreme. There are a few shops and some good restaurants but it is also a place where locals live. If you want to be surrounded by shopping streets/ bazaar right infront of your stay you might want to consider goreme.
This Hotel is simply amazing. If anything can even top the facilities and the beautiful cave rooms it is the most friendly stuff we ever had. We are a suisse couple, used to traveling and staying in rather expensive hotels and we can fully recommend this stay. Some highlights to underline our recommendation: Breakfast was traditionally prepared (and more than enough), always very high standard. Dinner: Altough we didnt reseve a table and all the outside places were full, we could still eat outside watching the beautiful surrounding. How? The staff single handedly and spontanously set up a table outside for us in no time. Balloon Ride: We didnt book ahead and already thought we wont be able to do it. The staff was actually able to book a balloon ride the next day after we arrived. Amazing! Surrounding: The hotel has a rather newly built terrace with an amazing view. Caves: What was really nice to see is not only we were amazed by the beautiful renovated cave rooms, but also the owner shares his passion for the building. A long and hard way to get it like the cave hotel is today but let me tell you it is worth it! Every room is unique - go check out the pictures they have on their own website, you may be able to choose!

We loved everything! The staff are so kind and welcoming, they really care and cater to your needs. The hotel is beautiful, with great rooms and views. We loved staying in the cave room. The breakfast is absolutely wonderful, the best breakfast we’ve ever had on a vacation. Location is great, we liked staying a bit further away from Göreme, in Ürgüp. Quiet and peaceful. We definitely want to stay here again. :)

This is the best accommodation throughout our entire trip. The room in the cave is spacious, very well maintained, in tip top condition. Loved every corner of it. The staff are so friendly and helpful, thanks to Sila and Aysenur who helped to organized our sightseeing and activities during our 4 nights stay at Cappadocia. The breakfast is extremely generous, scrumptious and we enjoyed the stay here very much. Highly recommend to all.

United StatesThe hotel is in a beautiful and peaceful setting in Urgup. Our room was very spacious and unique in a cave like setting with heated floors as it got a bit chilly in the evening. It’s about a 5 minute walk down the hill to lots of restaurants, shops and coffee shops. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. especially Sila and Ayse- they attended to all our needs including arranging a private taxi to a museum. The breakfast was included in our stay and it was phenomenal- there was a huge variety to choose from and the egg dish and pancakes with Nutella and fruit was delicious! I highly recommend staying here- you won’t be disappointed!

CanadaRemember, you're staying in a cave. There will be dust and it does get annoying but it's all part of the experience I guess.
Hands down the friendliest staff we've had the pleasure of interacting with. The front desk staff will help with all excursions and offer excellent recommendations. Kitchen and clean staff were so friendly and kind to us. My daughter (3) loved the attention she was getting. I highly recommend this hotel.
