Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

BelgiumOk hotel, but not great. The pictures look a lot nicer than it actually is. The place is clean, but is really in need of an upgrade (e.g. bathroom). The 'rooftop terrace' is also not in great condition anymore. Cats were friendly though.

The female receptionist during my check-in was very friendly and even gave me a call to let me know that there was a room available for me to check into early. She also helped to arrange an airport pick-up service for me upon request, and the other receptionist who was on shift when I checked out early in the morning made sure that I was picked up by the correct driver. The exterior of the building is a bit old and run down, but the room itself was good and clean (slightly dated decor, but I didn't mind + I only had to stay for a night). I stayed alone in a double deluxe room so I had plenty of room; it's definitely spacious enough for two people. Location is great too and close to where all the action is in Ximending.

South Koreathe room was disgusting and uncleaned, hair everywhere, mold and paper thin walls. I only stayed one night out of three because I got into the city at 3:30am and promptly left at 9am. I slept that short time in my clothes. I asked for a different cleaned room and they said they had non avalible at the time and to ask back later the next day at 3 pm when the manager was on site. the pictures were totally different than what is shown here on Bookings.com probably would be shut down under Taiwan athority due to these conditions.
filthy tiny room (see pics) did not match online pics at all. worst stay ever and worst hotel Ive ever seen in person. I left the hotel after the first night and book another. Looking for a refund for the two nights I didn't stay due to the false advertisment of the room

TaiwanThe hotel differs from the pictures and I feel like the pictures that are posted here were taken when the hotel was first opened and not updated since. Although the bed was comfortable, the rest of the room was in need of a proper cleaning and felt extremely dirty. When we arrived, there was a cockroach in the room and there was dust floating around everywhere. The carpets also looked like they hadn't been cleaned in years. There were stains on the furniture, bedroom and bathroom walls, as well as on the curtains. The air that came from the central AC smelled very musty and damp and would be a problem for those with allergies. There was a gap between the bathroom door and the room and because of the mirror-like frame, you could see right into the bathroom if you were standing in the room. The shower door was also off its hinges and didn't close properly.
The lady at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Ximen MRT station, so it is very convenient. The bed was big and pretty comfortable.

IrelandThe website photos are from a bygone era and the hotel has been left to erode over time. The shower door didn't shut properly, allowing water to piss into the bathroom like a racehorse. The "sky garden" looked dystopian at best, accompanied by cats leaping all over the surfaces that you eat your brekky from. There were no towels in the room, and despite the best efforts of the receptionist, could only muster one set of towels. He later rummaged around and found another bath towel, but made it sound like he was doing me a favour for getting it. There were a few resident mosquitoes that had it in for me during my nap. That extra bath towel got put to use in exterminating them. Don't tell the missus. Finally, the room smelt like its previous occupant had a 20-a-day habit, and he was smoking B&H Gold, so he was no mug. Didn't look like the floor had been properly hoovered either so had to douse my fallen earphone in sanitiser when I found it in the morning.
The beds were comfy. We weren't murdered in our sleep.
