Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MalaysiaVery clean room, comfortable bed, good location, friendly staff, plenty of books to read at lobby, free stationery in the room... excellent. The only complaint is that the breakfast choices are limited at the buffet bar.

Japan1. Clean, quiet, and spacious guest rooms. Comes with a nice balcony too. 2. Great amenities -- they even had a dyson hairdryer 3. Friendly and professional staff with one of the smoothest check-in check-out process I've ever experienced.

United StatesThe hotel breakfast is fine, but it's nowhere near the spreads I've experienced elsewhere in Taipei and Taiwan. The Grand Hyatt Club Level has a more comprehensive breakfast (and the Grand Hyatt paid breakfast is _much_ better), but the restaurant in the Eslite Hotel is a much nicer setting with better service. The tub was a little smaller than I hoped. I'm very tall, so this is essentially me trying to find something wrong with the room.
I stayed in multiple hotels in Taipei. This is the one. Great bed, good-quality sheets, comfortable pillows, high ceilings, nice tub, nice shower. I loved the room. It had all the niceties (switches near the bed to open/close blinds) while also taking care of the basics. Compliemntary mini bar and snacks. Lovely views of the park and Taipei 101. If you're considering the Grand Hyatt, choose this hotel instead (unless you want the pool).

Hong KongSad to say we were disappointed with the breakfast as it was very basic and plain , not what we had before the pandemic which then had a wide variety of western cum local selections , which we always enjoyed and looked forward to. I would not consider including breakfast in our next visits . It can be better . Thank you
Hotel is very well maintained since it’s our first visit after covid 19.

SingaporeClean, chic, and friendly staff, but light on facilities. Feels more like a 10/10 4 star hotel. A pool or a trendy bar needed to complete the experience.
Wonderful location with a park outside and numerous cute cafes in the Cultural Complex and the nearby alleys. 101 is walkable, as is Raohe night market.

Hong KongHotel has only a cafe and staff was not professional as big hotel group. As I was having breakfast meetings, it would be better if there had been better hospitality from the cafe staff.
Got upgraded during check in. Staff was friendly and helpful. Very comfortable and clean room. Hotel is off the busy commercial district but is within walking distance to the 101.

SingaporeIt is a bit on the pricey side. But I guess it is unavoidable with the surrounding, furnishing, and supplies. I will work harder so that I can go again, haha
Its furnishing is understated and comfortable. It is close to a shopping mall and a historic location (an early last century cigarette factory). Very convenient and just a lovely stay. The staff is friendly yet professional. The breakfast is tasty. Can check out books to read in my room and there is always fresh fruits welcoming me back each day. They are generous with the bottled water. The place is very clean. I would go there again!

This hotel is completely gorgeous, the design of room is so thoughtful with beautiful mid century style wood accents, a large bathroom with a shower and bathtub, a fancy heated toilet, and delightful L’Occitane toiletries. Our room had a balcony with a gorgeous view of the cultural park and Taipei 101. Having all the great shops and the AMAZING bookstore inside the building was also so fun! And breakfast was absolutely incredible both days, from the scallop and abalone congee to the perfect smoked salmon and everything in between.
