We went to the nightclub, and maybe we are too old for that kind of thing, but a bit loud and dingy not able to talk. But maybe for young ones drinking, they will enjoy that sort of thing.

I have stayed before a year ago, and stayed in the forest room this time, which was renovated and so fresh and slick inside. The beach is amazing at low and high tide, and those magical sunsets. The staff down in the restaurant and bar are amazing so attentive and friendly and that bar on the beach is lovely.

The attitude of the receptionist at the front desk was very poor. No patience.

Hotel is not really 4*, rather 3*. Not much entertainment variety rather local people using the public beach as their stage for preforming and asking for tip. Invading ravens stealing the food from the table inside restaurant serving areas. Applying 3% additional fee for any card payment purchase.. that's a lot. Oil and Diesel smell on the beach

Cleaning staff was really great and strived for excellent service. Swimming pool was great. Pleasant staff for most of the time. Breakfast was average, not really for a 4* hotel level.

The breakfast was not interesting. Too many choises of food that wasn’t good. That’s not unusual for Zanzibar. The eggs/omelet was almost the only thing worth eating. I’d prefer 3-5 well prepared options and good coffee and a glass of freshly made juice. The instant coffee was better than the brewed coffee. The service in the restaurant was slow, even for Africa, the waiters are nice but the experience is that of poor management. Not that the staff is bad, they just don’t seem to know what they should do.

The bed sheets were changed every day! There were sunbeds and umbrellas available for all the guests and more. The buffet was amazing and the staff always smiling and great.

The service seemed a bit uncoordinated. People were nice, but most of the times when we ordered whatever (drinks, or food, or even just water) we had to wait for more than 1 hour even though the hotel was obviously not packed with people. In the meantime we were approached by new waiters asking for our order (?). We had quite a lot of ants in our room. Room Service put insect repellent which made it a bit better. Hope we don't bring them home with our luggage.

Situation at the beach is nice you can really nicely relax in the beach chairs. We also liked the room and that towels for the beach were provided.

Beach beds are too close with each other. People on the beach are too pressy, trying to sell stuff (not related to the hotel). Bar/restaurant service are a bit slow, as the standard in Zanzibar (Hakuna matata)!

The beach of Kendwa is super cool, as in general north-west of the island, and the hotel is well positioned. Staff is cool and available to satisfy your needs. Our room was always clean and everything was working perfectly. The hotel is the perfect choice if you want a mix between party with a bit of relax. Ultimately, above the average in terms of quality.

That the pool closed at 18h00.

Everything was good. The manager was very accommodating. We even got a parking close to our room as my husband had a moon boot. Kumar was excellent in making sure our stay was comfortable. Facilities are well looked after. Staff are friendly. Location is also great.

The "green band/day visitors" try and dominate the beach loungers and can be rather noisy. Plastic bottles on the beach and rocks.

This was our 3rd time back to Kendwa Rocks. Since our last stay in 2021 there have been many changes which makes it a very commercial big resort now. We love the beach and the location. Our room was refurbished but a little on the small side we thought. Major improvements to the food and menu since our last stay.

The bar and restaurant manager was not friendly nor welcoming, making it a bit uncomfortable for guests to feel free and welcome. This also made it very hard for some of the waiters and waitresses to execute great hospitality.
