Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaThe WiFi has not working in the room which is a little bit disappointed because the sim card connection is as well not that good in the room so you have to go outside to have a connection at all.
It was a absolut amazing stay. You really feel that the management is very passionate about their hotel. There are a lot of small details which makes the stay outstanding!

United StatesAnything I did not like was out of the control of the hotel - namely the very broken roads leading to the hotel.
The staff and cleanliness are really the stars of the show! Everyone, most especially the GM (David) and the F&B Manager (Anne-Marie), as well as AGM (Enoch), made the entire stay wonderful. Mostly, I was in Nungwi, Zanzibar for a working holiday and the setting was simply perfect for such an endeavor. The hotel was so clean, the bed so, so comfortable and the people so kind and generous, that I would certainly come back again for another working holiday. Once again, David and Anne-Marie really made the trip exceptional - supporting me in my need for working space, a room for virtual meetings, power strips for charging my gadgets and even tailor made local food (with lots of chili!) everyday. I am so glad I booked Warere Beach AND I am glad that it owned by Tanzanians. I would definitely come back!

SingaporeThe location is quite far from other restaurants, so if you want to eat outside the hotel, be prepared to walk or, if you want to go to the main area (near stone town, you would need to prepare a call for taxi service.
The place is nice and quiet, with great amenities. It is a beachfront property so you will get direct access to the beach. Most of the huts are facing towards the beach with an outdoor seating area as well.

DenmarkThat it ended :)
As soon as we arrived, we were met with smiles, positive energy and a willingness to help from the staff, especially Baraka and Enock, who both went very far to ensure that we were given exactly what we needed at all times. Baraka was very attentive to our specific needs and very kind and effective. He displayed a high level of service and made us feel special and at home. During breakfast, lunch and dinner, we had the pleasure of experiencing excellent service from Yassir, who always met us with a smile and a genuine interest in attending to us. Not to forget Michael, who was constantly making sure that we had everything we needed at the pool.

United StatesI would have loved a more accessible beach, but the hotel isn't a far walk from Nungwi Beach with all of its restaurants and attractions so it was easy to get there and back. We walked safely, even at night, but the hotel staff was also very helpful in offering to book taxis into town if we wanted them.
The hotel grounds are stunning and the beach bungalow had a beautiful view of the ocean. Everything we ate at the restaurant was delicious and the staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly.

We’re really happy to spent our holidays at Warere. It is a cosy, clean, relaxing and very beautiful place. The view from our ocean front room was amazing, the pool is quite big and suitable for a nice swimm as it’s not so easy to swimm in the sea. The food was excellent, eveything from fish to curry and always so nicely decorated. Also good massage - thank you Marija 🌸. The hotel manager is really attenative to the guests and taking great care of the hotel and the staff, everybody is extremely nice and welcoming. Special thanks to Adeline, Bashri, Marry, Baraka, and all the rest of the many kind and welcoming staff. We’d love to come back!

United KingdomVegetarian food options were limited and sometimes a bit bland. Service, as with many places in Zanzibar, could be slow. The hotel is situated right at the far end of Nungwi - we hired a moped so we could get to places. The road on which this and many of the hotels are on is unpaved and pot holed.
Lovely room which glorious view over the turquoise ocean. Friendly, attentive staff. Hotel is small enough to feel cosy rather than corporate. Very comfortable and relaxing environment. Some great cocktails!

South AfricaNothing not to like. The only downside was the beach is abit difficult to swim in as it is a little Rocky but you can always take a 5 minute walk to the main beach for a swim
