Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyIf you want hot showers, western toilets, WiFi all the time everywhere, this is probably not your place
It's a very carefully and beautifully styled eco place. The staff is lovely and the views are amazing. The restaurant is nice, it does have higher end prices, something to be aware of. There's little seating areas everywhere, and there's a swimming dock. They have a lovely library where you can borrow books. The staff arranged for a canoo ride and boda boda on my return journey.

GermanyAs it's an island, it is a bit of a journey to reach. Especially if you're a solo traveller without your own car. There's only one free boat transfer scheduled in the day, so plan wisely. Otherwise you need to book the motorboat, or the cheaper option is the canoe, which is actually nice to paddle and see around. If you stay for more days and don't want to spend too much money, bring some snacks/fruits.
Peaceful place, clean facilities and beautiful nature. Great spot to hang out and relax! I appreciated that water and Ugandan tea is provided. Their food is very delicious! There are hammocks, sun chairs and lounge chairs as well as a whole library.

IrelandNo sockets in the dorms so charge your devices before. Also the free boat leaves at 1pm, I thought that was a bit late
Food was amazing (make sure you try the crayfish). Staff (Clinton especially) were super helpful and canoe tour was fun.

SpainThe wifi is not that good, even when they switch it on it doesn't always work properly (I had to use my data on my laptop).
This place is a piece of paradise. It's huge and you can walk around the property in the nature, even get to the other side of the island. No motorized vehicles, you will only hear birds. Food in the restaurant is nice and the staff is lovely. There is a free boat to get there every day at 5pm and at 1pm to come back to mainland. The mototaxi from town to the docks charges 10-12k and the road is pretty bad.

United StatesYou must take a boat to this island, which is free if you reserve the boat at 5pm or 30,000 schillings ($7.50) for any other time. I think it's worth going earlier in the day because the resort is so pleasant so I would recommend paying for the boat. Worth the money to be on the island for a longer period of time.
The vibe is amazing (if you like nature, birds, plants, solitude). The staff are welcoming and wonderful. The food is excellent. The price is fair. The domes are unique open air rooms with wonderful views of the lake, would very much recommend staying in one. They are clean, spacious, and we'll kept. The outdoor shower in the morning wasn't quite warm but it wasn't cold and it felt very refreshing to me. If I had waited until later In the day to shower it would have been warmer I'm sure but it wasn't a big deal to me. I am solo traveling but made some friends at the resort too which was fun.

FranceCommunication is easy with the manager Friday to organise the 5pm free boat transfert they propose. I was warmly received by the crew. The view from the shared area where you eat or chill is really nice. I had the chance to enjoy the sunset several times. Free water is available at anytime and tea until 5pm. Some activities are proposed and we try a kanoon visit which really worth our money as we discovered more islands and their history. Food is really nice and diverse. Shout out to the shrimp and avocado dish and the fried pineapple which was out of this world. It feels very nice to realise how dedicated they are about the conservation of their environment and community. They stand for ecological value and try to make them respected on the contrary of other neighbor hotel which import zebras for instance... You also have the chance to support some local project they promote. The bedroom was really convenient and the wakeup, which is early as the bedroom are open, is outstanding with a direct view on the lake from the bed.

GermanyThis place is magical. It is very peaceful, quiet and well kept. The staff is lovely and we felt at home straight away. Everyone is very flexible, uncomplicated, and we can highly recommend this eco-friendly place. The prices of both the rooms and the (delicious) food are very fair and this has been one of our hightlights of this year. Gad gave us good recommendations on what to do around the area, and following his advice has made this stay even more beautiful as we also got to explore the area of lake bunyonyi. We will be back!

Superb view from our cottage (dome), good food (you can eat whenever you want, there's always someone around), free Ugandan tea, late check-out (12.00), swimming deck with sun beds. We visited the school on the island, which was a nice experience.
