Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

We had 2 different rooms while here. A deluxe loft suite and a deluxe with patio on the lower ground floor. The deluxe loft suite was bigger, lighter and worth the extra money. But both rooms are great with high end fittings and spacious. The staff is friendly and helpful. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen well equipped. This part of Brooklyn is quietly hip and the (unconnected) restaurant on the ground floor, Madre, is great and quite the destination spot. Mitica next door is great too. Bar nearby -Achilles Heel. Transport easy -our favourite to Manhattan was to take the ferry.

United StatesPerfect location. So many great places within walking distance to experience. Staff was excellent and very helpful. Such a unique vibe: sort of in between a hotel room and Airbnb, with very comfortable accommodations. The first level room was really great with natural light and high ceilings. The adjacent restaurant Madre had the best cocktails and staff, too. Would definitely stay here again!

Nicely renovated and arranged.

United StatesHad a problem with the refrigerator, which was fixed, but situation could have been handled better. The fitness room is very limited (and very dark). But having any kind of fitness room was a bit of a bonus.
Spacious and comfortable studio close to subway and ferry to Manhattan. A little bit of a hike, but not too bad and not Manhattan prices. Plus you get the benefit of Greenpoint being a lovely neighborhood in its own right, especially its older Polish restaurants. Also nice, unexpected touches like decorating the room with antique cameras. I would highly recommend.

AustraliaOur room was just under a storage room and we could hear footsteps, loud music and things being moved at any point during the night. It woke us up a few times at 4 and 5am which is incredibly inconsiderate.
The room was very large and the bed incredibly comfortable. Checking in was easy. Excellent restaurant just next to the restaurant. Great area as well with lots of good cafes and restaurants.

JapanA great location with only a short walk to the Greenpoint subway station. Near the station are several grocery stores that were handy since we prepared our own breakfasts in our room. There are also a number of excellent cafes nearby.

We were extremely satisfied with your suite. The kitchenette was well equipped, the room was cleaned to a high standard everyday.and location was perfect. We were two women travelling together and felt completely safe in the area and loved the short walk to the river. Lots of local shops and bars with a good vibe. United StatesA bit expensive for essentially a large room/studio (and we don’t need a kitchen for the purpose of our stay.)
Helpful staff. Good location for us because we are visiting our daughter who lives in Long Island city. Very quiet property which is what we want.

BelgiumWe booked a room at the basement level, There wasn't much natural light and if I would rebook, I would request a room where there is more natural light
The place to stay if you are looking to visit Brooklyn. They have lovely spacious studios, kitchenette included. All the areas are in good state and kept clean. The rooms are homely decorated, so you feel at ease immediately. There are also lovely businesses in the area to discover. The hotel also has a restaurant MADRE, which we have tried and was absolutely sublime. You should also try them when staying here. Overall, a really great place to stay

Great location to lots of delicious restaurants and shopping and even grocery store’s and beautiful parks that are right in the East River that are only just a few blocks away! AustraliaThe 'balcony' was a bit subterranean (no view) but at least you could let air in the room. No other suggestions / complaints. We really liked it and would come back!
Spacious room, well appointed and furnished. Handy kitchenette with a microwave just enough cookware to make a stovetop meal. Comfortable and good location for Brooklyn and close enough to the subway to be in Manhattan quicky (Greenpoint station 4 or 5 blocks away. Can get from the hotel to Times Square in about 30 minutes). Laundry on site, works well and not too expensive ($2 each for washer & dryer).

SwitzerlandThe Lower level studio implied that we didn’t have a bright accommodation but it was so typical of NYC and that it didn’t really bother us.
Great neighborhood, great studio size, very good beds / mattresses, spacious kitchen in which we made our own pancakes every morning, convenient laundry room, nicely decorated rooms

United StatesThe AC in the unit seemed a bit off and was quite noisy. It worked hard to cool the room down.
I stayed in the Studio Deluxe, and it was perfect for a single traveler, but two will fit well. Well appointed unit with a full-size kitchen and a spacious bathroom and living area, which is always a challenge in NYC. Hotel room requests were promptly completed and the staff had terrific recommendations for whatever I was looking for in the area or how to get around.
