Friendly, clean, convenient hotel that needs cosmetic updating

Common areas and units are in need of updating. The decor is 70s and altho clean, everything feels blah—- no light colors, goldish tan walls and carpet, old “art” on the unit walls, dark unappealing comforters. Just a little attention to overall decor would go miles toward leaving guests with a happier environment and lasting impression. No elevators didn’t bother us, but might be hard for some people. The short but inclined driveways could be slippery in bad weather. Vending machines would be helpful. The Mexican restaurant truly adjoins the first floor of the hotel and the staff allowed their very small children and toddlers to run around the hallways outside guests rooms all evening. The eatery itself was chaotic and did not appear clean- has an 81% rating on the wall.

Convenient locations- ski resort just a mile down the road and slopes can be seen from the hotel. Friendly staff. Spacious unit. Easy check-in and check-out. Very clean. Unit included kitchen area and den and 2 bathrooms.

There were small difficulties with the check-in, if you come in the evening it is better to call the property, they do not always monitor the booking. Take rooms on the upper levels if you don't want to hear every step of the neighbors above!

If you want a vintage experience, this is the perfect place, everything in the hotel is very old but at the same time very well cared for, and for us, being young, it was a surprising and pleasant experience.

The fan in the bath was really noisy (I forgot to report it). Otherwise all good. We would return anytime.

We were there at end of September for the UTV attraction (30 min away) in TN and the Wizard of Oz fest on Beech. The crowds were low at Beech (except for the Oz-thing). Restaurants were good and moving about was fairly easy. I love the hotel however this time I could only get a 1-level room - smaller but still comfortable and has a kitchen for making breakfast. This saves both time and money, People were great and it's easy to do what you need to do.

The hotel is old and could use updating. The pillows were not comfortable, but the mattress was okay.

It was a large room at a reasonable price. The full kitchen was a plus.

Wife did not like the road going up. wish they had a washer/dryer set-up in room for convenance.

room itself was very well kept. Kids loved sleeping upstairs (didn't use fold out couch) great having a restaurant attached in case you feel like driving out.

Prperty is dated, however front desk staff said a renovation is planned in the future. There was no hair dryer.

Our only complaint was lack of comfortable seating in living room. After a day of activity, we wanted to crash and snuggle on the couch and relax. But the couch didn't fit our family of 5 and the 2 side chairs were too stiff to be comfortable to sit and watch TV.

Location was perfect, close to Fred's, sled hill, and ski slopes. Loved the suite, having the beds upstairs and the convenience of 2 bathrooms. The kitchenette was well equipped, although one burner did not work. The kids liked the game room and the huge fireplace in the lounge area.
