How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Roaches, non cleanliness, bathroom fan didn't work, ice machine didn't work, front desk didn't have anything in stock, front desk was rude, went out of my room bto dog poop infront of my room, food that was moldy in fridge, old soap in shower, old towels left in unit, definitely would not recommend staying here.

The building was outdated, and they filled the pool in. The thing that I feel is unacceptable the ice machines were turned off, and they wanted you to get ice at the front counter. The problem is at 6:30 am there wasn't anyone there.

Waited too long for someone to come check me in. The public areas were very dirty. You could tell they hadn't vacuumed for days or weeks. The room was freezing when I checked in with no heat on.
It was cheap.

Killed 2 bugs as soon as we got there. Room was only marginally clean. Someone's half empty water bottle still in the room and someone's toothpick on a table. Floor though panel floor was gritty enough that I had to dust my feet each time I got back in bed. Hallways were leaf strewn and dirty. Have stayed there before and definitely going downhill. Forgot to mention that our door jam had been kicked in and was barely reattached. Put a chair inside against the door. What happened?

They have no urgency to take care of issues the electric in the bathroom. The lights in the fan went out. It was still out when I left I had to put a lamp from the desk to be able to see in the bathroom.
Convenient location and that is about all I can say

I want to be fair, this place does not deserve 8.5. Maybe 5 years ago it did but not today. It is a very old hotel, that used to be good at some point. Today the wall paper is falling off, a lot of bend or broken things. Dirty everything and shabby. My first room had a dead roach in the fridge and bugs, I suppose lice, we’re having a field day on the pillows. The lady on the desk gave me a new room. This one did not have any bugs in, but was also old and dirty. The only reason I gave it a 5 is because it has potential to be a good hotel, big rooms, furniture is there and staff are actually nice. They ether need to close down and renovate or have a smaller hotel so they would be able to clean all the rooms well. A price of ~40$ is actually the right price at the moment but if they improve they could easily charge up to 90$ per night
The staff are super friendly and try to help. Rooms are massive. There are games, a pool table in common area and they sell drinks.

Overall, the whole back area of the motel was dirty, hallway carpet filthy. Room floor had construction boot prints all over, surfaces were dirty & the towels were limp, grey and need to be replaced. No idea why it had such high ratings in the ‘Clean’ category?!
Friendly staff, large room, comfortable bed, good shower pressure, nice decor, our ‘lint-free’ small pup stayed for free

Previous reviewers have said it all - this place is extraordinary, you should go out of your way to book it. Large room, clean, super comfortable bed; furniture/decor beyond the typical hotel room at this price point; good hot water and pressure; reliable wifi; friendly, helpful staff. Easy parking near room. Right off the highway but room quiet for good sleeping. Stayed extra days because, for the price and the comfort, why not?
