Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

CanadaMy only grouse was that the heating vent in the room faces the face of the bed and was very loud and noisy. I kept it off as a result for most of my trip
We were on the 16th floor and luckily it was quiet enough so there was no disturbance from the other rooms or outside. Location is great as its close to 40th and 42nd St Subway entrances and also very close to the Bus Terminal- so getting around was super easy if you are good with walking and using the local transit. Driving is a NO NO. The city roads are way too congested with traffic at all times of the day and taking an uber can be very expensive.

United StatesAbsolutely nobody trying to help patrons with homeless folks on property grounds I am a New Yorker I understand and feel empathetic for those without a home. At this hotel when using the smoking area near the door behind the plants and front steps, the tall skinny male front desk attendant literally watched as someone tried to force me to open the door for them. Absolutely no back up, or security to just help guests feel a little safer just leaving the building in the early am and late night… when most of those doing leisure travel to Times Square would be out and about during those times. To be struggling and unable to enter my hotel due to homeless harassment while the attendant looked on from outside was INCREDIBLY frustrating and unprofessional.

United KingdomNothing wrong with the property. Could’ve done with more storage space to unpack maybe. The surrounding area was busy and there were a lot of homeless, but we never felt unsafe. However, I wouldn’t have gone out on my own late at night.
This place is an oasis of calm in a very busy part of the city. If you need to stay midtown I would recommend it. Staff were helpful and very friendly. The rooms were clean and bed extremely comfortable.
