How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Amazing place to stay in New York. Loved the location, the hotel was stunning and the staff were friendly and helpful. Particular thanks to Janeva for helping me make our engagement so special, it was a stay we will never forget!

I think that coffee in the room is a must. The coffee downstairs doesn’t open until 7:00. There is a kettle in the room so why not get some trendy instant coffee packs? Any coffee is better than no coffee and I leave before 7 for work. Please consider this. Please put some coffee In The room or offer anything before 7:00

We were only there for the night but the room was incredible. So clean, amazing view and great facilities. The staff were so lovely, gave us local recommendations and booked us a cab to our airport with a lovely driver! Cannot recommend this place enough.

The location is good for transport links - Manhattan 15 mins but subway and easily walk to other areas of Brooklyn but we didn’t find loads in the specific area that we were going to!
Nice room - smallish but it’s New York so we were expecting that. The hotel has a good atmosphere with things going on and the bar / lobby nice to relax in. Bathroom beautifully finished and clean - also on the small side but perfectly adequate!

The rooms are stylish, well maintained and a decent size for a couple traveling to New York. The lobby bar has a nice range of drinks and was buzzing on Friday and Saturday night if you want to party. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again

That I couldn't get into the restaurant on Sunday morning. Hostess said all the tables were booked ul but plenty of tables are available. At least ask how long we planned on sitting for.
The energy of the staff is infectious. Very nice and helpful. Check in was effortless. Rooms are comfortable and spacious.

Staff could be a little more friendly and I wish I had received the detailed invoice of my stay after I requested it on Booking, since I wasn’t given anything during checkout (except a “you’re all set, have a good day”)
Location is great with super easy access to subway ! Neighborhood is nice. Brooklyn bridge is within a reasonable walking distance. The restaurant and the bar are both fantastic too.

Not much I didn't like. Just the expectation of being able to make myself a coffee within the comfort of my own room.
Staff was very friendly, spaces were really beautiful. The only thing was that for a hotel of this caliber and the price, I would have expected an espresso machine with complimentary capsules for guests.

The little light in my room entry way didn’t work. The overhead lights are all on dimmers except for the large hanging light which is the only one that really needs a dimmer. That means room is either slightly too dark or wayyy too bright.
Every time i have stayed the rooms have been clean, comfortable and relatively quiet. The staff is exceptional. Every single person from housekeeping to front desk to food service is wonderful, truly. Helpful, kind friendly and accommodating. The lobby lounge and garden is beautiful and peaceful and well-designed

It is not cheap but as expected.
The style, the decoration and the view of the room were very nice. And the little touch with the turntable was nice. The personnel was able very friendly at the check-in. Everything is well thinked and there are several metro stations very close.

Staff went above and beyond to assist us. Shout out to Vanessa at the front desk for letting us check in early after a red eye. Shout out to the door man for help with our bags as we departed. Also love the restaurant staff. The rooms are impeccable and the floors quiet. Situated in a bustling Brooklyn neighborhood that has lost nothing of its character. What's not to love?
