Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThis place would’ve been ok… but , there’s a roach problem and the floors are filthy. But other than that.. the front desk was nice enough to provide us with their broom and mop as well as some raid so at least that :) they also tolerated our late checkout so that was nice.
Loved the view and hanging out on the fire escape!

AustraliaThe level of noise from outside at night was distracting. The hotel area also felt a little "risky" at night; we generally ensured that we were indoors before dark.
The hotel was near enough to the city and transport options. Public bus stopped across the road from the hotel as well. Rooms were of good size, with appropriate amenities. The lift was old- we were happy that this has not been replaced or updated.

United StatesRadiator in room subjects guests to extremely loud flushing noise at all hours of night. Sound proofing against street noise (which is extreme in this area) is either non-existent or insufficient.
Rates are competitive. The property is rustic and mostly well maintained. Staff was friendly. Furnishings were adequate. Location is convenient.

United StatesLocated in the bowels of San Francisco's Tenderloin district. Bathroom had no running water on two occasions that I wanted to shower in the afternoon. Cockroaches greeted me upon arrival, but did not appear much. The TV had an annoying satellite tuner system that was a nuisance to operate in any way. The place needs a lot of work and is not safe for children due to ongoing and incomplete renovation process that will take quite some time.
Literate staff was able to clearly cope with written correspondence and reliably negotiate an after normal office hours arrival time and check in. Very reasonable pricing with no surprise costs or fees. I admire the courage and challenge the ownership and management face in operating in this neighborhood.

United StatesThe room had hair from the previous stay everywhere. My wife and I are both bald so there was 0 chance that it belonged to us. Also, they only gave us 2 body towels and that was it. We had the “maid service please” sign on the door the whole stay but never got anything.
It was within walking distance of a lot of things. The view from all windows was very nice.

United StatesIt says that it is handicap accessible, but is not even close! 5 stairs up just to get through the front door. Had a elevator, but it would stop short and leave a few inches of lift or fall that a wheelchair cannot get up or out of. Twice, the elevator stopped with the elevator floor at least a foot above the actual floor of the hall. I had to walk up to a higher floor to call the elevator up, then go back down to call it back down to reset. My wheelchair bound wife was not able to leave the room with out me, let alone leave the building. I had to walk her inside by hand, then carry the chair up stairs. It was ridiculous.
Place is fun if you like an old historical building. Windows were fun to look out.

United StatesThe lying, thriving, manger. How can u let someone like that run a place. He really makes a not so bad place, unpleasant. If it wasn’t for him I would of stayed there again if I hadn’t found a apartment yet.
I liked that until I had to leave for no reason, I never saw the manger who stood from me. It was unbelievable that man knew he had nothing like that in his cheap hotel. It was so gross to have this idiot telling me we know what’s in r rooms and I said then u know that doesn’t belong to u. It felt so low to have some lowlife telling me my own property wasn’t mine. Insulting, I don’t get treated like that ever.
