Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

United StatesThe exterior looked as if an abandoned motel had been bought and renovation of the place was only half completed (December, 2022). wiring was looped near roof line, buckets and ladders were left around, the black iron stairs looked old and tired and an old dresser was stored in the exterior hall in plain sight. The pool was filled to its top with dirt as if it will become just a grassy open space. Check-in was ridiculous—one has to deal with a headset-wearing woman remotely through a kiosk monitor. Then, customers are reminded to return the door key card because “new technology is expensive”! (They buy something unnecessary, then have customers worry about it??!!) I like to have a real person check me in—you know, hospitality and all that…
Interior was clean. All the electric, all the plumbing and the heat/air worked as they should. I found no bugs, and saw no cigarette burns. The bathroom sink, the tub and the fixtures seemed new.

United StatesThere was literally a hostage situation at the hotel when I pulled up. There were people just loitering in the lobby, all over the stairs and outside. It was really shady... the check-in procedure was over a Skype call with staff and a kiosk and very impersonal and hard to understand how to do. There was a $50 cash deposit that the ad never mentioned... and the rate said it was way lower than I ended up paying for a gross room. Would never stay here ever again, even if the room was free. AVOID.
