How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Tired carpets and lack of room facilities like a microwave or fridge. No hot spa and no checkin before 3pm even though it was advertised that checkin was from 2pm. We requested early checkin but never got a response from the property.

The hot tub was broken and no microwave or mini fridge in the room.
The pictures online show a mini fridge in the rooms however when we arrived there was no fridge or microwave. We had to waste a lot of food.

Continental breakfast, I don’t believe the hot tub is actually functioning or available at this point.
Old rooms but clean and comfortable enough. Good location right on the lake and close drive to Palisades/Alpine. The continental breakfast was super limited - only some poor coffee, bananas apples and questionable packaged pastry. The breakfast also wasn’t out the second day we stayed. For being a budget motel we were satisfied with our stay!

The staff at the day I arrived was not so helpful, I almost didn’t find my room… I asked for recommendations and he didn’t give me much information. They also gave some coupons for the restaurante by the side of the hotel that are not acceptable anymore by the restaurant policies…
The location is good, rooms are quite comfortable as every average hotel in the US…

Wifi service is super slow and discontinuous.
Continental breakfast provided: Pastries, Fruits, Juice, Tea/Coffee. Sufficient Tea/Coffee are in the rooms. They have a microwave to heat up Deli's. Location and the rooms are extremely nice (close to Safeway & Chevron gas station). Parking is secured. Stuffs are very helpful.

Larger room / more floor space would have been nice.
The view from the room window & back patio / balcony outside, accessible by a separate back door, of the golf course & hills behind it, geese, & bears. Bed-mattress & its linens were firm, thick/like new, clean, very comfortable, & w/ plenty of pillows!

The toilet paper dispenser was on one of the beds, instead of in the bathroom. The outlet I used for my cell phone didn't work, but I didn't find out until the morning.

The room was a little outdated and did not have a fridge or microwave.
Surprisingly quiet for the amount of people staying at this location. The parking lot was full of cars. Packaged pastries and coffee offered in the morning. Comfortable bed.

Poor breakfast. The coffee is average, they have packed cinnamon rolls for breakfast. They do provide fruit (apple/banana) which is probably the saving grace. No seating area for brekky, its take it and eat in your room.
An old but decent room especially if you plan to just come to sleep/rest. The bed was comfortable - not too plush. The TV was small (32-35") by todays hotel standards. The location is great. Walking distance to a small beach, trail and eating places. There is even a small movie theater next doors.... Tesla superchargers are just 5 mins walk away. Checkin and checkout was quick - no hassles.

We had to jiggle the flusher and wait for the water to stop or it would keep running. The outside deck carpeting is really worn out and makes the place look bad. The rooms are nicer.
Fresh fruit, tea and coffee for breakfast. Package pastry if you eat those. We walked across the road to the beach. Enjoyed the lake walk to the stores and cafe instead of the main road. Don't miss the bear made out of pennies. Also enjoyed the hot tub facing the lake.
