A visit to England without leaving New England!

Wish we could have stayed longer.

Old world charm is one way to describe this lovely B&B. The moment we arrived, we felt welcomed. A full English breakfast with a pot of robust tea was extremely satisfying. Throw in lovely rooms with paintings and drawings of the resident artist and you have an unique experience waiting for you!

Our host was lovely. This was a cute house in a quiet neighborhood. Breakfast was excellent. We could not have had a better introduction to a state we had never visited before.

So glad we chose this unique, antique bed and breakfast over a cookie-cutter hotel!

My husband and I just enjoyed a delightful one night stay here. We needed a room that was close enough to Springfield for an event and we found this gem! Upon arrival, we were immediately welcomed by the host who gave us a tour. The house was beautifully decorated and we loved admiring all of the antique pieces and odes to England. The stay was comfortable, quiet and peaceful. Something we noticed right away was the overall cleanliness of the home, which is extremely important to us. In the morning, we enjoyed a scrumptious breakfast complete with a hot cup of tea. This was our first experience with a true bed and breakfast and it didn’t disappoint. If you’re tossing between staying at a boring, cookie cutter hotel or a unique and cozy bed and breakfast, choose this! We wish that we had another opportunity to visit again. Thank you Helen for a wonderful experience!

There was not a thing that I didn’t like. Everything was perfect!

From the moment that I reserved my stay, I knew that I was going to enjoy my time here. The host, Helen, was quick to message me to welcome me to her home, and she kept in contact throughout my stay to make sure I had everything I needed. When I arrived, Helen greeted me at the front door, and showed me around the house and to my Queen bedroom. The room is beautifully appointed with a VERY comfortable queen bed, lovely armoire with tv, comfortable reading chair, bookcase filled with great books, mini fridge with champagne, keurig machine with both tea and coffee pods and snacks. The bathroom is so beautiful with fluffy white towels. Breakfast was served both days with so much attention to every detail. Breakfast both mornings were absolutely delicious. It is obvious that Helen loves what she does and does everything with love and care. Enfield Street, where this home is located, has a set back sidewalk where you can leisurely stroll and enjoy the other historic homes and fabulous shade trees and enjoy the beauty of Connecticut. I traveled solo for a women’s retreat this past weekend, but look forward to returning with my husband next month. Thank you, Helen, for all you do for your guests.

Love bed and breakfast for meeting nice people who own them!

Only that the queen bed was firm, my old hips like a softer, pillow top mattress. We could not find a thermostat in the room, and do not trust portable heaters, so found the room, in mid to late April, to be a little cold, but there were plenty of warm covers! And I like a nightstand on both sides of the bed, so each person can put eyeglasses, tissues, phone, etc there.

Loved meeting the hostess of this beautiful antique bed and breakfast. Make sure you look at a picture on Google of the mansion. It is a very large white house with 2 flags and a red front door. The driveway is just BEFORE Nutmeg Street coming from the I-91. Easy to turn right upon leaving property and fill up on gas, before getting back onto I-91 right across from gas station. The mansion is beautifully decorated and maintained, very quiet with only 2 suites each complete with full private bath with small shower. Small mini fridge had a cold bottle of wine and 2 water bottles. Little side table with small coffee maker and snacks. TV is in the armoire. Breakfast was wonderful, Hostess said she will make whatever you want. We had homemade, delicious omelets, biscuits and home fries with coffee and juice in the dining room. Living room and dining room with microwave open for guest use. There is wifi available, password is on the sheet provided. Her husband is a very talented artist, who painted many of the pictures on the walls downstairs, with prints available for sale. Hostess responded to text messages promptly and politely.

I loved my stay here! Helen showed me around and made sure I had everything I needed, but also gave me space to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. I am so grateful they had room for me that night. The bed was extremely comfortable, everything was clean and beautiful. I had to leave before breakfast but I hope to stay again and be around long enough to enjoy that.

Helen was a wonderful host! She made us Yorkshire tea when we arrived. The room was beautiful, bed was very comfortable. We got introduced to her 2 dogs and her adorable new puppy. We came home from dinner to a warm fire and we woke to an amazing British breakfast! Can’t wait to come again!
