Windows in the rooms are never completely closed so it can get cold at times + the AC is annoying and either very cold or very hot.

Great common areas with a large kitchen! Very nice staff and additional activities provided by the hostel.

Beds need a better curtain system. They tried. For each bunkbed there is a single set of curtains that hang from the ceiling. This is useful if you know the person sharing the bunk (either arriving with them or making friends there or just the correct timing at bed and you hit it off politely) but not if you don't get a chance to chat or come into bed at different times... you both can end up not using it thinking doing so will be a problem for the other person. Shortening the one from the ceiling so it only applies to the top bunk and installing simple ones on the bottom bunks would fix this. That said, this is a minor bit of bonus and clearly not anything that is make-or-break about a place. The beds and the rooms they are in are clean and comfortable and roomy, as described before. There was nothing actually *negative* I could say, just an area of improvement on the good.

Many person dorm was large, tons of room to move around. Not cramped at all. Bathrooms and kitchen had hand towels that were clean and folded with a laundry basket after use rather than paper towels. Kitchen cooking space and storage was also huge, 2 nice stove-ovens. Lots of table space and working counter space with outlets. Clean, very friendly, good location. Beds are comfortable with socket and light.

The only reason why I'm not giving full 10/10 are the showers. Several had a very high pressure and it was uncomfortable to use them, plus there was no space to put your things inside the shower stall apart from hooks, so toiletries bag or your keycard could only be put on the ground. Also wifi kept falling, but that might have been just my phone.

Great hostel in the very center of Philly - but in a quiet back street, so it wasn't noisy. Rooms were nice, comfy beds, each had sockets, a lamp and a shelf, a locker and some hooks. Kitchen was nice too, enough dishes and always clean. It was very social place, people were very friendly, especially on beer nights it was really easy to meet new people. Bonus points for the pool table, free to play. Staff was nice and helpful.

I should have stayed more than 1 night, the best hostel of my whole trip.

Big, clean, nice free amenities all around the shared areas. I arrived late in the night when they were finishing a free cocktail night, so I was welcomed with a refreshing vodka lemon! Staff are very friendly and helpful. Huge and complete clean kitchen. The stairs and floors are named by Rocky movies and you can hear the soundtrack around. Fantastic place! Amazing vibes!

Excellent facilities and location. Request accomplished. Excellent staff in particular Julia (knowledgeable, kind, bilingual and extremely helpful) and Michael (brilliant new-starter with excellent customer service). Big lockers and whole hostel decorations according to the city's cultural history. Big kitchen and big pool table. Local fast food amenities around and close to landmarks. Excellent and immaculate clean toilets.

The only thing I can think of is that they don’t have a cafeteria/restaurant. But they have a fully equipped kitchen available for guests!

Excellent location near Liberty Bell/Independence National Park. Excellent staff. Honest guests: I forgot & left out in a public area my toothbrush & toothpaste. That night after returning I realized that and asked if they had a lost & found. They did & the items were there, together in a plastic bag.

I really liked the vibe in betweem staff and guests. Laid back , relaxed , but still with a lot of respect for eachother and the rules! And offcourse the location is great , in the old city and not too far from the center city as well as close to the mfl subway line (east <> west)

It was an old building, so be prepared to climb stairs without elevator, especially with heavy baggage up to the top floor. The restroom door shut quickly. I was using both of my hands to carry my stuffs like toothpaste, toothbrush, razor, towel etc., with no hand to hold back the door. The door handle hit my waist hard. Also I asked for a lower bunk bed and the staff did try to reserve one for me. However the other guest in the room seemed to ignore it and occupied the lower bunk bed before I arrived.

I liked many aspects of this hostel, including location, staff, kitchen, bed, shower, cleanliness, key card room door access, large common area, baggage storage after check out etc. The locker in the room was big enough for a large suitcase. Everything was well maintained and organized.

Apple Hostels was very straightforward to find and it is located in the Old City which is walking distance from the main tourist attractions. The location was excellent, and I stayed in the 18 bed male dorm and I was amazed how spacious it was. The hostel is extremely clean, and there excellent facilities there to cook, chill, relax and have fun. The staff were first class and they were on hand 24/7, and they were all genuinely welcoming. A special mention goes to Nick who always went the extra mile and I'll miss our early morning chats at the start of the shift. I will definitely be staying here when I come back to Philadelphia, highly recommended.
