How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

After the Marathon there was no possibility to keep my room just a bit longer or having a shower somewhere in the hotel. They said the hotel was fully booked, but my and other rooms were free.. and also it would have been possible to stay in my room, If I would have paid a complete night (= 300$ for a shower). I found a gym close to the hotel, that let me shower for free after the Marathon. The room quality and cleaning level is just sufficient. No big expectations. The room has no windows and to get fresh air in, I need to use the entrance door..
I was there for the Boston Marathon.i appreciate the position, quite convenient to get to the center. The possibility to use the common space for meals anytime, to use the microwave and get free coffee and tea. The breakfast was ok, it is necessary to go early enough though, since some food might be over and they do not always replace it.

The room service is by request. This is not a problem. However, I read all the emails, website instructions and booking page. Nowhere was explaining that. During check-in we were also not informed about this. Once again, it is not a problem to have room service by request. The hotel could just let us know in an easier way.
My room was really big and the hotel is literally in front of a subway station.

The whole venue is built like an indoor motel, which means the rooms don‘t have access to fresh air and the windows open only to another indoor area, where people can look into your room. And the breakfast is devoid of nutrients: Meaning the only protein are cheese sticks and joghurt, the rest is ultra processed foods - oh, yeah apart from bananas. So, don‘t count on it, if your health-conscious.
It is a nice location, a little of town but quite accessible by subway. The staff was super friendly and the hotel has a modern vibe and good amenities.

Check in time could be earlier, since it is too late for international travellers who arrive early in town. Even paying an extra fee it is not possible to get in the room before 13:00 h.

No rooms have outside windows. Everything is built inside a big warehouse and all windows are inward facing..so little light. No parking on the street unless you have a permit - even in metered spots after the meters shut off - and the nearest parking lot is $50 a night. You can find spots on Spothero, but not that convenient.
Lobby was nice. Breakfast was pretty good. Room was pretty nice. Location on Beacon St is nice and central to everything.

That the windows curtains did not hide the room if the lights are on in the room.

I've never had a "corridor" room before. It is definitely not the atrium view I've enjoyed on other stays, but it was quiet and clean. We only had one complaint and that was the water quantity and pressure in the shower. That would be a simple improvement.
The Brookline area is trendy and convenient to BU, Fenway, Newberry, etc. We lived that we could walk just about everywhere. When we couldn't, lots of transportation options right at the door, including the T and Bluebikes.

Very low lights, the water pressure extremely low took forever to take a shower. And there was a smell I’m guessing because of the carpet… not a terrible smell but a smell.
Great location, beautiful decor, the attention on the front desk was beyond nice very caring and kind. The amenities on the bathroom top quality. And the gym is very good. Breakfast included was basic but good.
