Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe rooms are extremely small, so a little tight for a family of three or more. The beds are extremely small as well, so if you are 6' or taller it won't be too comfortable for you, however very comfortable for us tiny people, with clean sheets. Our bathroom sink was a nuisance because the drain was very poor and it made it difficult to brush your teeth and face all at the same time, because the water would fill up the sink and not drain.
The hotel is a nice boutique hotel in a perfect location. We had a wonderful experience, with the Double Double Empire State View Room, the view was beautiful at night to watch the Empire State Building light up while your laying in bed. The service was good, with friendly and accommodating front reception desk. The food at the Archer lobby restaurant had a fantastic breakfast menu and the food was exceptional. The location is perfect, very close to Time Square, Empire State Building, 5th Ave for shopping.

RomaniaVery small room and poor layout, there was not enough room to open my big troller bag and unpack it, had to move furniture around to fit it. Window overlooking interior airduct, should've been described more clear at booking.
Hotel looked great, good amenities and great location for short tourist trip downtown.

United StatesMy fridge was broken and someone’s leftovers were still in there from another stay. My view looked straight into an office building… but that is expected. You can hear everything in the hallways while in your room, so my afternoon nap after my long flight didn’t really happen,
Loved the location, beds were incredibly comfortable, complimentary toiletries were high-end, espresso machine in the room was fantastic, shower was lovely, robe and slippers were a great touch!

SlovakiaWe started our US trip at this hotel. Tracie, who was very kind and helpful, took care of us. She gave us a beautiful room on the 21st floor with a breathtaking view. The room was clean, the beds were amazingly soft, and there was a beautiful homemade message waiting for us in the room, which we will display at home. Archer set the bar very high for our trip. Thank you.

CanadaNot enough seating at the rooftop deck. But to be fair it is busy and that speaks volumes of what a great space it is :)
The staff was super knowledgeable and friendly. The location was perfect. Most places we visited were within walking distance of the hotel. The rooms were clean and modern.

United KingdomCan’t really say anything because it was really good.
We had the double double room for 2 adults and a teenager. We had the Empire view. We had a 4 night stay. The location is great and the hotel staff are very helpful and friendly. Hotel is quiet but perfect for 5th and 6th Avenue. Safe neighbourhood too. Room is clean and has all the essentials you need with a nice shower. Although not cheap it is worth the effort. We were really pleased with everything. Bar and restaurant was great too.

United Statesthe bathroom sink is abnormally small for such a large luxurious bathroom. Water everywhere. You know what I mean, ladies!
The room was quiet, the bed was soft and everything was clean. What more could you want? Bryant Park, the French restaurants and the Indian roti take-out nearby were perfect. One day I rode a citibike from Central Park to the hotel and it was the easiest/most fun (maybe not safest :-/) way to get to the hotel.

United StatesTight space of the room was the only thing but other stuff made up for it.
Let cation, facilities and staff were all wonderful. Room was super tight space for two people but they maximize under bed space for luggage storage. Rooftop bar and view of Empire State Building was so fun and the food there and at the restaurant was great!
