No complaints. If I HAD to pick something to complain about, the walls were a little thin so we could hear the people next door when they were talking. Aside from that there is nothing we didn’t like.

It’s not the cheapest stay in town, but that’s not the point here.

The Argonaut is a surprising, authentic gem located just at the upper end of touristy Fisherman’s wharf. Huge wooden beams, plank floors, carved bed headstands make you feel a bit back in time. The attached restaurant is wonderful, ate there three times. There’s a nautical museum inside as well! Great location if you like to run, you’re 3.5 miles away from the Golden Gate Bridge and the path there is epic. Solid gym with lots of weights. Pillows are super comfy. Fireplace in lobby. A great weekend getaway if you want to extend a business trip to SF.

The walls between the rooms are very thin, so it can be noisy.

Is it me. Should water be free in a room & not 5 & 8 $. An holding your payment. First they hold total stay plus 400 $ & when you check out they take it again. Then 4 days later you get the fist back. I know it’s held pending. But it makes me nervous

It’s location was perfect for us as first time visitors to SF. Room was comfortable and restaurant was really good. Staff were all exceptional, with an extra special shout out to the concierge (Zoe? I’m not good with names) who’s patience helping us to book a car service went above an beyond. Thank you.

The hotel is located right at the end of San Francisco's Fisherman Wharf area. The place is amazing to stay, there are many restaurants, bars and shops nearby. The surroundings are very pleasant and holiday-like. The hotel is located in a historic building and provides comfort and convenience, only slightly limited by the original building. I stayed in a room with a sea view, which was a nice perk.

The restaurant in the hotel - The Blue Mermaid - had excellent breakfast/brunch but we didn’t love the dinner options. The menu just wasn’t varied enough for our liking. The staff was great, though! There are two elevators for the entire hotel and one was out of service for the week we were there. This led to long waits for the elevator. If you’re on the lower floors and don’t have mobility concerns, it might be easier to just take the stairs.

The location of this hotel is the best part about it - walking distance to the tourist areas along Fisherman’s Wharf, Pier 39, Ghirardelli Square, Lombard Street, Chinatown, and a beach with swimming. Also within a block of the street car, cable car, and bus, so you can use transit for everything. The service at the hotel was great. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We had an early wine tour one morning and the front desk staff offered complimentary water bottles as we left. They also gave us complimentary late checkout (1pm). Our room was basic but comfy. The bed was really comfortable and the TV had access to streaming services (you had to log in to your own account). The bathroom was clean with good water pressure in the shower and sink. There was a safe and mini fridge in the room.

The shower curtain int eh bathroom was a little dated, but this is a minor quibble!

The Argonaut is in a great location with easy access to Fisherman's wharf. We loved the nautical theme throughout the hotel. The room was comfortable and breakfast was very good. We will definitely stay there again next time we visit San Francisco.
