Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SloveniaThe hotel equipment has seen better days. Some of the outlets in the room do not work, windows are not tight so on windy days some air gusts do get inside and doves are annoying while chilling on the lanai.
The location of the hotel is phenomenal, only 20 meters away from the Waikiki sandy beach. Upgrade to beachfront was absolutely worth it.

United StatesParking was 55 bucks a day. They should quote that during the reservation. The valet expected you to tip every time you came and went and stood there with your car keys in hand waiting for money.
Location was good. But alot of homeless nearby and shady alley ways if your walking around

HungaryThe hotel has no noise cancellation or noise isolation at all. You can hear virtually everything from the neighbouring rooms and also from the very noisy Waikiki main street. I used earplugs but even with this it was very molesting. If you are not sensitive for noises then ok, if you are bad sleeper better choose other hotel.
Perfect location, close to the beach, beach amenities in the room price, the zoo at the next corner, the staff was very nice and friendly. Basically is a good hotel by American standards. The hotel was recently renovated.

United StatesSelf-parking and laundry are not available, and valet options are pricey and less convenient.
It is a great location, across the street from the beach. The hotel is close to many restaurants and attractions. The room is spacious and the front desk staff were helpful. The complimentary beach chairs, umbrellas etc from the Beach Candy were very convenient.

United StatesThe room was small and gave me a "motel 6," vibe at best. Place is advertised as being renovated, however the upgrades had to be done as cost efficient as possible. The room was stuffy and smelled molded. Baseboards looked to be damaged by water and warped! Multiple toilet issues in the early am and "engineering," too their time getting to the room to resolve the problem. If you stay at this hotel and book tours, you will be the last guests picked up and will get the worse seats on the tour busses or no seat at all.
The location was great. Lots of food and shopping options within walking distance. Beach within walking distance, across the street from the property. Hotel guests are allowed to rent chairs and other beach necessities for being a guest. Great restaurant on property, great food and friendly staff.

United StatesWe would have loved to get a room on a higher level. We didn't get it even though we requested it a couple of days prior to our arrival.
Extremely good location with a full ocean view room. Great place to stay. Proximity to the beach and restaurants. Loved the way the hotel provided aluminum water bottles for the entire stay reducing plastic usage.

Waikiki is very expensive and this hotel is quite dated, so I felt it was a lot especially for an Australian having to pay in USD. The water bottles are a great idea, as are the refillable toiletries. Well done on that. Breakfast was limited and no good for vegetarians. Indeed food in the restaurants also Pretty hopeless for vegetarians. But location is first rate, staff are also first rate.

GermanyIt wasn't too hot so no need for air conditioning in the room but withe the open windows it was very noisy from the a/c all around. The rental place for beach gear is at the hotel, so everything needed to be carried across the street.
You can't beat the location on Kalakaua Avenue right across the street from Kuhio beach. Grat ocean view, even from the side. Loved the water fountains and complimentary water bottles for refilling. Breakfast at the hotel at least once is a must for the view. Complimentary credits for beach gear.

AustraliaThe carpet needs to be updated in the entire hotel! Tea/coffee facilities could be more thought through (enough for the duration of the stay; no milk in the fridge, just creamer in a packet, some reusable spoons to be more eco friendly). The doors didn't seem to close very securely when you left the room for the day. (The locks rattled and there was a gap between the door and the frame) These are all small things but if fixed could make a good stay into a great one!
Staff at the front desk really went the extra mile. They gave us early check-in after a long flight which was really appreciated. They also helped us print and scan some documents. Views from Ocean Front room were spectacular.
