Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesPeople in the room above us obviously had kids and they were running around their room and stomping, causing a lot of noise in our room. But that was not something that was the fault of the hotel. They were full of families staying there for a softball tournament.
The breakfast was okay. I like the variety of food items offered. I would like a little more like waffles or something. I also liked how clean and simple the rooms are. I asked to change one of our rooms from a king bed to two queens. They were able to accommodate us despite a full hotel.

Day 3 we were gone most of the day and returned late afternoon to get ready for an evening event. Room had not been cleaned; bathroom dirty and no towels!! We were told the housekeeper had not felt well… not my problem.

United StatesCheck-in was confusing. Several people standing in line to be waited on and noone was present except house maids that didn't speak English. These people had already checked in and could not get into their rooms as the locks were malfunctioning. When I finally got to the desk clerk, it took forever to get lock card and it too did not work. I had to go through 4 cards to find one that worked.
It was different than usual. coffee makers were a bit confusing at first, but good coffee was enjoyed. Jimmie Dean sandwiches were ok and better than eggs in a bucket and soggy sausage. Open area was comfortable.

And after a long day of meetings and travel I didn’t have the energy to complain about it.
