The area doesn't have a lot of public lighting, I had the perception it may be dangerous at night. Windows/Doors are exposed to other guests going through the corridor, so unless windows are covered by blackout blinds people can see inside, which I found odd. I am not a fan of neon light in bathrooms

It was a little loud, but given the location and the fact that it was Memorial Day Weekend, I really can’t fault the hotel. Our room was also really warm. Just FYI if you’re in an ocean-facing room: the windows facing the beach really heat up in the sun, so once your room starts getting direct sunlight (around 5/6 o’clock in the evening) close your curtains so your AC doesn’t have to compete too much. You can also open the door and the window by the bed to help circulate the air 😊

Such a cute property in an amazing location. I wasn’t able to stay long enough to really enjoy it, unfortunately, due to my flight being canceled and then having to catch one first thing in the morning. But what I did experience was fantastic. Everything seems recently renovated, and the staff was so nice! I also loved that our window facing the courtyard opened! It was so nice to be able to let the breeze in.

The value for the money isn't quite there. I get that it's a tourist area, but 300 per night seems a bit steep for a hotel without a pool.

The price is steep for the room category, but in keeping with the rates of the area and with a better location than many others. The side rooms are a bit dark in the day so I wouldn't want to work from there, however Mud/Wtr is a co-working/cafe space nearby should the need have arisen.

The location is perfect - right opposite Santa Monica beach and only a few steps from the eateries and boutiques on Main Street. The room has everything you need, including a coffee machine, and the bed is comfy. You enter the rooms via a secure gate which meant I felt safe during my stay. Important as a solo female traveller. I checked in with Chris and he was super helpful and accommodating. It was good to be able to leave my luggage after check-out and I noticed the staff locked the office if they left it, even briefly, so it felt secure.

Location was outstanding - across street to Santa Monica Beach and short distance to pier. Good jumping off point for going north along highway 1. Dogtown Coffee two blocks away for great coffee, and many good restaurants within walking distance. Room and bathroom were in great condition. Place was quiet. Courtyard was very pleasant.

Small issue of a smelly sink. Just needed some bleach and cleaning the water run off.
