Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe only concern was how very tiny the bathroom was, given I was sharing it with my sister. Bathrooms in New York City hotels are of course often small but this one was at the small end of the scale. And, my mattress was a little firm for my taste. Neither of these things will keep me from going back though!
The location and the quality of the staff could not be beat! The building has a beautiful European vibe and the French bakery. Next door breakfast can be obtained is fantastic.

BrazilI traveled as a family and we got 3 rooms. We had a big surprise when we arrived at the hotel and discovered that the breakfast that appeared on the first page of the booking was actually a 10 dollar voucher to be spent in the hotel store, with guests in line every morning to exchange for food and no direct change if you simply wanted a coffee. I had a problem of more than 3 hours checking in to one of the rooms. I also had to change one of the rooms because it had a column very close to the toilet which made it difficult for a taller person to use. Be careful not to stay in a room in the service elevator area as it is very busy due to the hotel's cleaning staff. Other than that, the location of the hotel is good and so are the rooms.
good location

MexicoThe noise from the corridor at night was an issue. People talking very loud and going in and out from their rooms.
The location was exceptional, 3 blocks from Central Park and metro stations nearby. The room was excellent, very clean and comfortable.

US Virgin IslandsThere is no central lounge area. And the wi-fi is spotty to non-existent.
It’s a wonderful place to stay on the UWS. It’s close to the subway and all the restaurants & bookshops you’d ever need. Plus, it’s attached to the Mille Feuille Bakery!

SwedenDownside that it is far from mid and lower Manhattan.
Boutique hotel with a nice location close to beautiful Central Park, but far from lower Manhattan. Nice and comfy rooms, small but functional bathroom and newly renovated hall ways. Kind and helpful staff, and yummy breakfast. All you need!

GreeceThe wifi is no good , despise the fact that we booked the room with breakfast , there was actually a voucher of 10$ per person for the cafe that was part of the hotel and with it you could buy a coffee and a croissant ,for anything else you had to pay more. Also in the cafe every morning the was a really big queue.
The hotel is in a very nice spot, the building is very well preserved, the rooms and the hotel generally are very clean. The staff of the hotel was very polite and helpful.

IrelandWi-Fi was poor, and dropped intermittently. Room was smaller than most. Breakfast option w vouchers for a bakery was a poor idea, and there were always queues, unable to cope with the volume of people. Our particular room backed onto the elevator, and too much mechanical noise from that. Bad neighbours meant too much loud conversation at 1 - 2 a.m. , but not hotel’s fault.
Excellent location. Staff were super responsive and friendly. Room had most conveniences, Good shower. Comfortable bed. Comfortable temperature. Mostly quiet. No kettle, but brought up to room on request. Free daily water.

United StatesAlthough the public spaces in the hotel are handsome, I was unimpressed with my room. It was certainly comfortable and quite spacious for a solo traveler, but the grey walls were drab and a bit gloomy in a room that received little natural light. I realized this color scheme is currently fashionable, but a room looking out on an airshaft would be more inviting and comfortable painted in warmer colors.
The location is wonderful, particularly for people who appreciate the architecture and atmosphere of Manhattan’s Upper West Side. The hotel’s access to public transportation is excellent, with buses practically at the front door and the subway just two short blocks away.

United KingdomBreakfast was a let down. When booking breakfast to a hotel you expect a proper boufet, continental or similar. You do get "complimentary" 10$ vouchers/day/person to use in a cafe/bakery downstairs but you could only get a coffee and a croissant really. So not the best experience. I'm assuming it works well for both the hotel and the bakery but for the guests that expect a proper breakfast it really is a letdown.
Very clean hotel in a lovely building with an amazingly helpful staff that make you feel at home. Close to everything really, 3 min for a subway station, not even 10 min walk to Central Park, with lots of shops and places to eat around. Would absolutely recommend as it was great value for money.

United StatesThe $10, per person, breakfast voucher at Mille-Feuille bakery, downstairs, was just a little short of what we needed for a substantial breakfast and coffee. But, it was still a decent value for an NYC breakfast and very good. The WiFi was very spotty. In and out quite often.
Beautiful building, great staff, clean, and the best location for us. Just a couple of blocks from two subway stations to get us anywhere we needed to go. The upper west side is the best location we’ve stayed in NYC!
