Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNothing really
It is a very pretty hotel and felt high end. Staff was friendly and welcoming. They had plenty of space in front of hotel to load and unload bags. The cafe is lovely with again nice staff and good food. Hotel room was on the smaller side with an adorable tiny bathroom - this was the only thing that reminded us that we were in NYC. But again super comfortable. In that space there was a desk and chair, a comfortable chair near the large window, a closet. Bathroom amenities were Bigelow so really nice. Hotel was super clean. The hallways were a little on the narrow side but again felt clean and fresh so absolutely did not mind. They had complimentary water in the room. I would highly recommend and stay here again

United StatesWindow was apparently broken and taped shut in the room allowing cold air to get in on a cold February night. But when we told the front desk about it the next morning they reduced our price which was greatly appreciated.
Excellent location close to Central Park!

United StatesExcellent location, and the baked goods at the french bakery were amazing. Especially the almond croissants. We were celebrating my Mother’s 65th birthday with 4 nights at Belleclaire, and the staff generously surprised us with a card and cupcakes to our room. We had a great time, and I will come back to this hotel next time in NYC, for sure!

United StatesNothing Really. It would be nice to have had a fridge in the room.
This boutique hotel is an older prewar building, but the rooms and common areas were nicely updated and clean. The hotel bar and restaurant, Allure, was beautifully decorated, but the drinks there were just okay; appetizers were quite good. A pastry cafe, Mille-Feuille Bakery Café, was attached to the hotel lobby, which was great for grabbing coffee (the latte was particularly good) and freshly baked pastries. We were given vouchers there for our stay. The hotel is close to the American Museum of Natural History and Central Park and has several good places to eat nearby. I have no complaints whatsoever. However, it's worth noting that walking to Fifth Ave, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, or any midtown location is quite a distance but doable, especially on a nice day. It's best to grab a cab for those areas. All in all, I would stay at Hotel Belleclaire Central Park again. Compared to many hotels in NYC, it is a hidden Gem of a hotel!

SwitzerlandVery tiny rooms (but well distributed), we would have loved to open the windows to get fresh air but that was not possible. The shower head was fix. We thought it was with real breakfast (“includes breakfast) but we received just a 10USD voucher for a French bakery (5 USD one croissant). To the outside, the room was quiet, but we had sexually active neighbors and heard everything…
Greatly situated, good value for money

United StatesThe bathroom was extremely small and the shower was very difficult to navigate. Placing the on/off in the back of the shower wasn’t the best idea as it’s hard to turn it on and not get water everywhere while adjusting the temperature.
The location is great. Close to the subway and bus stops. The room was clean and nicely appointed. Everyone who worked there were extremely polite, friendly, and helpful. The vouchers to the bakery and restaurant were a very nice touch. I enjoyed the food at both places.

United StatesBreakfast is vouchers for a cafe next door - the line can stretch back through the lobby, so timing your trip to get your morning coffee and pastry is essential (8:30 was ok, forget it at 9). No coffee maker in the room.
Excellent location, blocks away from central park, natural history museum and the subway. We were up on the 9th floor and did not hear any street noise except for one or two very loud sirens.

United StatesWe booked two rooms. We asked for quiet rooms. One was quiet, but the other faced Broadway and being this NYC it was very noisy at night. One of the rooms was equipped with a mini-kitchen and microwave but there were no cups, glasses, plates or utensils provided. We had to ask the front desk for a tea pot and cup to make some tea. They were kind to give us one, but it should have been there to begin with. Overall, nice rooms and nice hotel but too expensive for what it's offered.
The rooms were large, clean and comfortable.

United StatesI would have liked to have an ice machine on my floor and/or the option of room service and while the voucher for the bakery breakfast was nice, we were also pretty done with sweets after a few days and there were very few savory or healthy options, so we ended up using it for just coffee and perrier the last couple of days.
The location was perfect; close to Central Park, restaurants, bus and subways routes, but most of all felt very safe and walkable even at night with just my young son and myself. The room was larger than I was expecting and very comfortable with a pretty view of the church across the street and a peek of Hudson River.

United StatesIt’s probably the second time I include this in my review, but the breakfast is barely complimentary. Even for a small coffee and pastry, you still need to pay the difference. Prices have inflated at the belleclaire, and so should the breakfast coupon!
The Belleclaire has been my favorite place to stay at in New York City for a while now. Great location, clean and comfortable rooms, and very nice staff!
