Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe toddler size toilets in the room. Seriously they are so tiny and really low to the ground. Hard on a taller person with a bad back when they are trying to sit down on it. Also the seat was smaller than the porcelain opening so you also had the cold porcelain on the back of your thighs when you sat down.
It is an older hotel but well kept and clean. Location was convenient to the places we were visiting. Beds were really comfortable as were the pillows. Loved the giant fluffy bath towels too!

United KingdomThe view from the room, and definitely gets too hot without the air con but then too loud with it on.
Very clean, helpful staff, you can get bikes for free, nice feel about it in general.

United StatesIf you have a car add $35 per day to hotel price. That's what you'll pay to park across the street. Not bad but if comparing to other hotels that have valet parking included in price it factors in. Walking a few of the streets around hotel can be a little sketchy (but that's typical Seattle/big city reality these days). I'm a pretty intimidating guy but there were a few dudes measuring me up for sure.
Not a bad price. Walking distance to touristy stuff. Nice and friendly staff. Clean.

United StatesI can't say there was anything we didn't like. It was our first time staying in Seattle and we really enjoyed it.
All in all it was a good location to be able to walk to many attractions and restaurants. It was clean and everyone was gracious. It was a good experience overall! The rooftop access was a plus as well. Very beautiful views, especially at night.

United StatesQuite expensive, parking was up in the air on if included or not, and for someone out of town looking to walk all weekend, not having to leave my car in an open lot was a preference.
Close to everything , check in agent was extremely nice, after 10pm while the lobby does close, there was still staff presence, and a friendly security guard diligently working. I had a card key stop working at midnight, likely from being too close to other cards in my wallet, and they got it replaced in minutes and I was on my way back to getting a restful sleep.

United StatesThe staff were wonderful, the rooms were great, and I love the hotel. The neighborhood is a mix. I had no problem at all, but some people feel a bit uncomfortable in the area. If you’re not used to a very urban area with urban problems then you might not want to stay here. I’d come back in a heartbeat.

CanadaWe wanted to open the window for some outside air over night but there was too much noise from the aircon machines so we had to keep it closed. The bathroom ventilator was quite loud.
Location was great, hotel was equally 10mins walk either to the museums or the other touristy areas such as Pike market, so even though we got late in the afternoon we could still walk around and check out the areas around. The staff were really nice and helpful.

JapanWhile the location was convenient, it was kind of dead. Especially if you are from another country it might be surprising for you. I'm used to people being out and about all day, lots of businesses that are open early and/or late, etc. It makes me feel safer to see other people about. I wouldn't say this is an unsafe neighborhood, but being used to something very different was a little stressful. It might be a really different experience on the weekend though. We were there two weekday nights. Despite the deserted feeling of the location, I'd still say it's a good place for a one night stay if you want to take the train from King Street Station in the morning. It's either a short bus ride or short and cheap cab ride. The cab was only around $7 and we had big pieces of luggage so we used that. Nothing negative to say about the hotel itself.
The staff were really great and helpful. The room was nice, clean, and comfy. The location was convenient, but there were some negative aspects to it as well.

United StatesThe room felt cramped. Fair warning to travelers who aren't used to cities: the neighborhood was a combination of gentrification and living on the street. I don't know enough about Seattle to know whether all the downtown neighborhoods are like this.
The hotel is within walking distance of the Paramount, which enabled us to walk to the show we were in town for. It's also within walking distance of the Pike Place Market, but the parking we paid for allowed in and out, so we drove. The staff was super nice. The room itself was nice enough but a little dated. The bed was comfortable, but too close to the desk. If someone was sitting at the desk, he had to move out of the way for the other person to get to the far side of the bed.
