How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

My queen bed was a full size. The bathtub was too small and a kindergarten did the caulk work. The tub was old and ugly.
The staff were nice and the hotel was clean. The breakfast was enjoyable with plenty of seating.

The bathroom was very small and there was no place to put toilettries or hang clothing or towels.

The shower slider door only closed about 3/4 of the way. The toilet would run unless you pulled up the handle. We mentioned this to the front desk twice and it was never fixed. When we mentioned it the second time, the front desk told us it was fixed. Wrong. Also, the Saturday night clerk needs to learn about the area. We arrived hungry at 10:30 pm (had no dinner) and were told nothing nearby was open. Later we walked to a nearby KFC/Taco Bell and learned both it and the McDonalds were open until at least midnight.
The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was good. We asked for a quiet room and got one!

Breakfast was the best I’ve ever had at a hotel!!! The staff were all friendly and helpful! My only complaint is that it took 5 minutes to get hot water in the shower. Very nice facility.

would like that you have info about using public transport

Thin walls and the couple next door were having some loud fights.
I had restrictions for my Sabbath and the hotel staff were so accommodating and helpful! Next to a beautiful park and the Citadel. Flat, easy, and safe 2 mile walk to main attractions in Charleston.

Hotel staff were all exceptionally helpful and friendly. The hotel was very clean, and the beds were comfortable. The location was close to downtown. The breakfast was decent, and their little store had good choices of drinks. a grocery store right next door, and you can catch the Dash bus to downtown there.

The water pressure in the shower was extremely low flow, the sink held water due to drain not opening fully. We did find a park on-site but it is very limited. Public parking garage is available to combat this, it is also ten dollars to park per night baked into your final cost. Lastly drive slow if you're not from the area the road you take to get there is horrible.
Breakfast was good, the room was pleasant and the bed slept well.

We traveled with pets and booked a pet-friendly room and called ahead to make certain the pets would be welcomed. We were not told of extra $100 dollar per night upcharge for pet until we checked out. I think this info should have been in booking site or shared when I called in advance. I do think the fee is excessive as it inflated price by 30%.
The breakfast was very good. The parking fee was reasonable at $10 per day. The location was ok for us as we like to walk. It was about 2 miles from historic area of old Charleston. Some people will find it too far too walk.

Bathroom showed some age.
Nice hotel with a good breakfast and well kept public areas. The beds were very comfortable. Parking was a bit limited so we found it was best to park our car and Uber to downtown.

Pillowcases were dirty, but the housekeeper came in and exchanged them. Much appreciated!
The location of the hotel was great. We were able to get to restaurants and downtown within minutes.
