They charged me $10 a day for parking which was NOT advertised in the booking process. Not cool.

The trains coming throughout the night honk and it woke us up 3 - 4 times. Also the sofa was stained and the sofa bed was uncomfortable. The bathroom felt very old and dated.

the bedroom was separate from the rest of the room. Also the main beds were surprisingly comfortable. there is also an outdoor patio.

I can understand that things are different since Covid. But. I was not aware that the rooms were not cleaned unless the stay was more than two days. But I think that the amount payed for the room. It would be nice if the trash cans were emptied, towels replaced if needed, toilet paper, Kleenex refilled, as well as the coffee in the room. We went to the beach for the day and sand came back with us. Maybe brooms need to be put in the room to sweep up the sand after a day trip. Or, I need to bring slippers to keep my feet clean. I found the cleaning cart in the hallway outside my room. Was that so I could get supplies for the room as needed? We went to the pool on Sunday. There were no clean towels available. We went to the pool again on Monday in the afternoon. No towels in sight. Do I have unrealistic expectations. When I checked in, the person was not particularly friendly. That would have been a nice time to inform me about services not available. When I checked out, the young lady was personable. Before I book again, I will make inquiries about services available. I haven’t stayed anywhere in a year and a half. I will check with my family members snd see if this is the new norm.

The staff was not helpful with the situation we were experiencing with the family above our room loudly running back and forth all night long. We understand children will be children but this was excessive and inappropriate. It was very disappointing since we had planned on making this a by monthly trip at this hotel -with friend who live in the area. Paying almost $700 for our weekend accommodations and to have to deal with this nightly disturbance and a 1 person staff who could not deal with the situation was disappointing to say the least.

The phone would ring randomly, no "do not disturb sign" available to hang, the continental breakfast could use a few more alternatives such as English muffins and / or different bread choices. The water was turned up during our stay without any warning or notice from the front desk.

I enjoyed the location. It was walking distance to just about everything.

Everything else My stay started out ok. But then it took a terrible turn after the cops where called on me by someone. While that may have not been the fault of the hotel. Many other things where -actual ants in the hot tub (because of this on my wife's birthday I had to pick them out of her hair and teeth) -moldy and disgusting green shower head -bird poop on balcony -the dust that covered the curtains -the weird noise from the bathroom when the shower and the heat are on -even AFTER I asked. No towels in the pool area -no one to bring extra towels -the iced over mini-fridge Now the encinitan is not a big name hotel, so I don't expect the coffee to be good, or the 3$ vending machine soda to have something besides Pepsi and water. I can't expect for a small hotel to have a covered smoking area or elevators with up to date inspections. Because that's all stuff that only big name hotels have the flow to care about. But when it's a small "family owned" establishment. You at least expect the place to be clean. You at least expect the facilities to not put bugs in your hair. Those aren't budget issues. They are staffing and management issues. Jeff was actually great though. He's awesome and you should appreciate him better

The staff was nice but it seems the hotel kinda gave up. The jacuzzi was cold. The trail to the beach from the door gate was sketchy. The parking area seemed cluttered with housekeeping items. It just seemed a bit dated and in need of new signage and touchups. There were cracks in the bathroom counter It's a great spot for getting close to the main business street and beach. The photo of the nice bathtub was really misleading given how dreary the 1st floor bathroom in my suite was.

There is a loud train at night that kept going through..so if you are sensitive to noise, keep in mind.

I really love the location-you do have to walk down the hill form the hotel, but after that it is so central to the downtown..just. A few stoplights.

The door for the closet was broken down in one very visible area. Maintenance was awesome front desk could not get the check in machines working right. Break was a good. We checked in an it was a little like a ghost town motel. Either sell the place or get some help to market this place properly so that there are much more persons there.this is my three cents.
