Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyThe price of the room is crazy for its dimensions and for its value. On top of that, add 30$ per night to park (what kind of hotel makes you pay for his parking?) and 40$ of cleaning fee (this is astonishing: an HOTEL that has you charged if you want your less than 20m2 room to be cleaned). i would have accepted it if the room was fine, but it didn’t have any charging plugs next to bed and the water pression in the shower was extra slow.

United StatesThere was no elevator, I know it was written on the hotels description that there was no elevator available, but there should be a ramp available that should be available for the clients to carry their heavy luggage. Management should look into this, it should be accessible to all kind of people especially to the handicap people. There should be a receptionist at all times on the front desk. They should provide a number for the receptionist if we need during our stay and we shouldn’t be connected to the main line of Sonders which takes time for them to answer since it will reroute you to an answering service. There should be a microwave. The password of the internet should be ready available inside the room. The tv / program should be easily available and we shouldn’t be provide our own Hulu or Netflix account to watch the show. The hotel should pit provide us the program. There was no air conditioner instructions. The room had no phone, this is my first time to have a room without a landline. No access to the receptionist, housekeeping or no access to the emergency numbers. The interior and exterior design cam can use some updates. Parking space is so limited.

United Arab EmiratesThe walls are paper thin! Seriously we could hear everything through them, that includes people's alarms, people talking, and the property is located on two very busy roads so traffic noise was also an issue. If you're a light sleeper then this isn't the place for you.
The staff were super friendly and so helpful. Anything we needed they were very happy to assist. The Sonder app is also really helpful for requesting things like extra towels or for asking any questions. The location is also brilliant. It is right in the heart of West Hollywood and you can easily walk to coffee shops and the main shopping streets. There is also supermarkets, malls and cleaners nearby. The beds are also super comfy!

Francethe check in with the app was a nightmare especially when you are from overseas and don’t have internet connection . you really have to do all the doc uploads before you leave . it seemed overly complicated and I don’t want another app, however the chat help was very good . the room was also affected by a flashing strobe light from a box under the desk every 5 minutes which added to a room already illuminated by a blue light from the wifi access point and a large gap under the door . this was disappointing
it was clean and tidy

United StatesFor the price of the room & the way that it was presented on line, I was very surprised when I asked why no one had freshened our room after the 1st night…like refilling the coffee service, remaking the bed. I didn’t expect fresh sheets or towels, just a welcoming return to the room. The answer that I got was that if I needed something, just ask but to refresh the room was another $35/day. This should have been mentioned in your advertising.
I thought the property was lovely at first but the more I looked around, the more I noticed how worn, faded & stained things were. Dead plants in pots, cushions torn & dirty, tablecloths thrown over couches like throws to cover stains. All could have been forgiven as “shabby” chic except no one ever straightened things up. One good thing, though, is that our bed was extremely comfortable…& we’re very picky about that.
