No view from Paradise room. Noisy work- blowing and construction during day. Room could not be shut up and just a doorknob turn lock. No dead bolt. Screens and thin sheer curtains on 2 full sides with no privacy. Perfect if you’re an exhibitionist First time someone hacked my laptop and charged some exploratory charges on the day I used it here. It’s not secure but never had that happen before. Had to cancel cc. Blowing threw all kinds of fumes into my room and I couldn’t close windows as only screens. Then cleaners were using pine sol to mop the front porch and the fumes were bad. I have a lung condition and came to HI for clean air! Just use vinegar!! Outside has just been painted and looks fantastic!

I do not have things I can complain about really. Parking is free and available, but might get messy if you have long cars (was not a problem for me though). A few ants here and there, but this is a facility right in front of a whole forest so it's perfectly fine as you are just a host of nature. I want to make it clear that these aspects won't prevent me from staying at this facility again, I would actually reserve it again.

The property is located 2mins walking distance to the beach, in an enclosed bay with sea turtles, fish and other animals. The host offers snorkeling masks, fins and shoes in case you didn't bring any. I also saw sunscreen and bug spray ther for you to use, as well as chairs and other beach miscellanea. The room was fairly large, right next to a bunch of trees with plenty of birds (lovely to wake up with birds singing right behind you). Somehow I managed to see a whale jumping around from the balcony of the room (amazing). Location is great as you can get anywhere on that side of the island in a few tens of minutes by car. I did not meet the host while staying, but also did not have any requests that required the presence of a host either.

We liked Room Ochid very much. A place of peace and relaxation. Nice balcony and parking directly on front of the building. Very quiet in the night. Lots of equipment for beach day to borrow for free.

Parking is a little awkward, is hard to get the car in and out sometimes. The room is slightly small/cramped.

Not so much didn’t like but took some adapting to. The ocean view room is very nice. You enter into a living room with a balcony then head upstairs to a queen (it really is) bedroom with a small dining table set and comfy chair plus walk-in closet. Then there is a nice kitchenette with sink that is also the only sink for the attached bathroom lacks one. Once we assigned the ends of the shelves that have dishes on them to where our toiletries went, all was well and organized. There is no cleaning during your stay which we didn’t need and I’m sure I could have gotten clean towels if I was around during the day but never was. I also didn’t use the contact phone since I knew the manager is presently on the mainland helping her aging parents.

Lovely locally owned property with ocean views and sounds to lull you to sleep. Very nice you g local couple around during the day and keeping the place very clean. There is a great gazebo that serves as a communal kitchen and dining area including a large fridge with assigned bins in it for each room. Since there are only microwaves in the rooms this provides a burner to cook on plus a bbq. There is a large table and chairs too. Nice place with plenty of parking with tight turn around to get out. Walk to the beach with snorkeling in 5 minutes tops. Great to watch the sunset.

Hard to find. Need a bigger sign on the street. Best way to find it was to look for the little Catholic Church and road lines crossing.

It wasn’t a regular hotel and the porch made for a great place to just listen to the waves and relax.

Some of the slats of the room were missing. The parking was tricky at first, but easier after the first night.

We were in Surfer Room, which had separate yet private bathroom closeby. Only a slight inconvenience. It would have been nice to actually meet the owners....( helpful on phone when we had questions). Quite a drive from the airport and tours leaving the harbour ( fine if you have a vehicle).

Lovely oasis ! Comfortable room, with beautiful breeze. Everything really clean, with lovely linens and towels provided ( including beach towels). Outdoor kitchen facilities a bonus. Walking distance to pretty snorkelling spot. However, best to have a car to make the most of the island.

Hard to find road in a dark and road is not smooth. Uber driver got lost we just got out of car and walked in dark. Would be nice to have some lights outside along the road to help walking in the dark time.

Close to the ocean, has community kitchen, nice adjacent patio to bedroom, away from main road mostly quiet nights. Good parking space. Plenty of kitchenware to use. Water dispenser on 1st floor very useful. Washer and dryer.

The location is quite far from the central Kona coast, and the road leading up to the place from the main road is not that great. It was dark and partially paved, but the good thing is I could see many stars! Buses are unreliable on the big island. So Uber was my only option. No restaurants close by.

Cozy room, in a tranquil place. It feels like a homestay instead of a hotel. Very clean and feel-good, with beach and wave sounds to drift you off gently to sleep. It is great for solo trips and a perfect snorkeling spot right next to my stay!

I would like to have room service on a regular basis. Not that I want my room to be cleaned every day, but some room service would be great.

We liked the place. It was quiet and clean. The room has all the necessary kitchen utensils and appliance. The common area and kitchen are very good to have, I saw people grill beef and cook. The location is great, in a walking distance to a popular beach which saved us daily parking fees. Lots of free parking which is great plus! Overall, our experience with the hotel is very good.

Only downside is that it is pretty challenging to find the driveway - especially at night, but you'll get the hang of it!

Comfortable room with amazing porch and view of the bay. Though the room is on the small side, the site has a great outdoor BBQ/Eating area as well as an indoor 'living room' with a couch, books, laundry, and misc gear / stuff to borrow. Staff was super responsive regarding one issue we had.

Its lovely traditional guest house look in quiet surroundings, the garden views and spaciousness of the room. The large bed was beautiful and comfortable. The use of natural air flow in the rooms was perfect.

If you come at night look carefully for the signs. If you do not have a car, you can walk to the beach and that is all. No coffe bar or shop close by.

Great location, you can walk to the beach. Clean, spacious room; with no air con but you really do not need one. The place is quiet, peaceful.

The shower is outdated, fixed unmovable on the wall. We never mett staff or the owners.

The house well kept and lies nicely inmid trees. The beach is in 2 min walk away. One can borrow beach equipment. The double been is extra wide. parking possible.
