Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesOnly wish we could’ve stayed longer to enjoy more.
The setting is beautiful! They had beautiful flowers throughout the property. Access to the trails. Fire pit in the back overlooking the hills. Birds everywhere. We love watching birds. Also loved seeing the horses on the field right next store. Location close to 1880 Steam Train, Black Elk Peak, and Mount Rushmore. Absolutely ideal. We like to cook for ourselves. They supply the charcoal for the outdoor grills. We love the hometown feel of this place, and were treated like family. Looking forward to coming back next year. We would love to bring our adult kids and their families. Lots for kids to do.

Beautiful location nestled in the green hills, main visiting attractions nearby. The cabin was spacious with two bedrooms, fully stocked kitchen. Wonderful family who runs the facility. George is always available for anything we need and knows everything there is to know about what to see, where to go and what to avoid!

United StatesYou have to put a deposit down for the cabins and if you don't clean them properly before you leave then you don't get the deposit back. The cleaning is not a normal thing that you do at a hotel/motel but it was not hard to keep the cabin clean and get your deposit back. Just follow the rules posted in the cabin. It took my group about 20 minutes to wipe down the surfaces and appliances and sweep, vacuum and swifter the cabin. Of course we didn't cook at all in the cabin so it would probably take a little longer if you had to wash dishes. The only thing that I noticed and was somewhat worried about was I didn't see a smoke / carbon monoxide detector in the cabin even though it has a gas heater and I think a gas hot water heater.
The place was clean it is not fancy but it was priced right. The owner was very knowledgeable about the area. He was nice to answer some questions about the places to see in the area. This was a good locations to see Crazy Horse , Mount Rushmore , Black Hills National Park and Hill City is a nice town to just walk through. We were not at the cabin much except to sleep. They had some nice amenities like bicycles and gold mining pans that you could use. We didn't use the pool because we didn't have time. There is a very nice trail behind the property that is excellent for running or walking and it takes you into Hill City if you want to just stretch your legs. The cabin is situated in a beautiful area. The property is very clean and nicely kept.

United StatesThe is one wall air conditioner in the kitchen. Sometimes it worked…sometimes it didn’t. During the day it was hot! But weren’t in the apt after 10am most days. We would think we were leaving the air on cool so by the time we came back it was cool in the apt. But that wasn’t the case. And since it was in the kitchen the cold air couldn’t be felt in the bedrooms or bathrooms on the other side of the apt. However, at night, the temperature drops significantly and it is cooler (this is August btw). And both bedrooms have a ceiling fan and windows. Hubby and I always slept with the bedroom door closed, window open and fan on. My gf in the other bedroom, the same except she DID NOT open her window. Our other gf, she slept in the living room area on the hideaway beds with the ceiling fan and a fan she brought to keep cool. She had no complaints.
The convenient location of the property. Our room was spacious, clean and having a second bathroom made the situation for four adults was great. The room/apt was clean.

United StatesI only wish we had stayed longer than 5 days as it was such a fun trip!!
Cabins were clean and had comfortable beds. Awesome location! 15 minutes from everywhere to explore in the area. Spent many days exploring Custer State Park. Get out early so you see more amazing wildlife. Free bikes we signed out and rode on the gorgeous trail just behind cabins. Sooooo quiet here too minus the road traffic in the day when everyone is out exploring. Some folks complained about owners detailed rules but for us we totally didn't mind at all as it ensured there was a very nice crowd of people in the cabins. Zero loud partying people which we greatly appreciated after days of hiking and that meant great sleep. Full size fridge for groceries and coffee maker and fully stocked kitchen for meals. Nice pool. I loved the rustic vibe of this place and would definitely stay here again! Thank you George and Jocelyn!

United StatesNicer cabins, but that would double the price like other resorts in the area.
This is an older resort just south of Hill City in the Black Hills. It is centrally located near Custer State Park, Jewel Cave, Deadwood, and close to Mt. Rushmore. The cabins are old and small but well maintained. BUT, this is a Great little resort for less than a hotel room and half the cost of other resorts! It backs up to the middle of the 106 mile long gravel bike trail that crosses the Black Hills! Super beautiful ride! The resort has bikes, a pool, outside tables and b-b-ques, play area for kids, hot tub, beautiful view of pine covered hills-we loved being there!
