What a lovely place! The house is rustic farmhouse style but clearly renovated in the last couple years, so everything feels very comfortable and up to date. Rooms / beds are very comfy. The blue room suite has a HUGE private bathroom which was a plus. Jen is such an incredible host - provided us phenomenal home cooked breakfast every morning and lots of tips for our time in the Finger Lakes. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

The walls/doors are a bit thin, but that's just the nature of a very old house. The other guests were also quiet so it wasn't an issue for us.

Everything about our stay at Black Walnut was very enjoyable. This is a beautiful and lovingly restored old house and every detail is intentional. Jen is an absolute legend and was not only super friendly but made really excellent breakfast (very delicious and with local ingredients) and gave us recommendations that were spot-on. We also appreciated having the modern comforts of multiple streaming services and reliable Wifi. The back garden is also gorgeous. Even the cat was friendly. All in all, it was everything you'd want in a bed-and-breakfast.

If I was trying to find something, I’d say the shower was a little small. However the bathroom itself was very spacious, so it really wasn’t an issue and I’d expect that in an older home anyways.

It was such a comfortable stay in a quaint, old house. The accommodations were lovely and Jen was a wonderful host, which really made the difference. She paid extra attention to the things that mattered. Very comfortable and clean bed, great breakfast and coffee, and was knowledgeable about the area and wine. Jen really makes a conscious effort to accommodate each guest. Even plenty of streaming options, she thinks of everything.

The house has been carefully renovated since Jen acquired the property just before the pandemic but the grounds and gardens are next on the list. Still aesthetically pleasing but an opportunity for improvements. We look forward to going back to see first hand what happens next!

Jen the Innkeeper is delightful. She can offer a wealth of knowledge about the region. I got the maximum out of my stay because of her great recommendations. Her breakfasts are delicious and only topped by her warm hospitality.

Had a great stay. Room was comfortable, spacious and clean and Jen treated us like family. Breakfast was wonderful each morning and she even went above and beyond to send us off with blueberry muffins our last morning when we left before breakfast. Oh and the coffee was delicious! Jen, the homeowner, was absolutely lovely. Wonderful home, accommodations and hospitality. I would, without a doubt, stay again at her B&B and hope to do so again in the future. Highly recommended for those taking in the vineyards, breweries, hiking/waterfall opportunities or even during visits to see kids at college in Ithaca.

Jen our host at Black Walnut gave us a list of excellent places to eat at during our stay and in the future. The breakfasts were exceptional! Bedroom was cozy and comfortable.

The property itself was old and in need of a lot of TLC. Jen did a lot of remodeling but it still has a way to go. As long as you’re looking for a place to sleep and be a home base for sightseeing, it’s satisfactory.
