Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Statesvery slow WiFi… almost unusable. Oven didn’t work. Maintenance man tried to fix it but couldn’t. Front doorknob came off. Luckily I was able to put it back and enter the cottage. No cushions on porch furniture. Very uncomfortable.e

First, understand that the rental cottages are rustic, the floors are uneven, and the studio ones are small. But they have been beautifully and tastefully updated and the bedding and amenities were top quality. The location can’t be beat. Plan your stay around the big concerts; we were there at a quiet time. The meals in the dining hall were excellent. The only criticism was that there was no option for an early morning cooked breakfast.

United StatesThe mattress on the bed in cottage 603 seemed a bit worn, dipping into the middle for both my husband and I--and neither of us is overweight!

United StatesOne night we got a noise complaint because we were playing an intense game of Uno on the porch. Quiet hours weren’t for another half hour (and we fully intended on honoring them when the time came) so that was a bit annoying but we understood some people aren’t as fun as we are. Another disappointing thing was that we got burgers at the dining hall and they were way over done, however they were also serving a huge party so I would give them the benefit of the doubt (especially since we went back for breakfast a different day and it was excellent).
The staff were delightfully helpful and very eager to offer up suggestions on what to do. Every time we needed something, it was no hassle at all. I cannot say enough complimentary things about the staff. They added so much more enjoyment to our stay. Our AC wasn’t initially working when we got there and they added a window unit in about an hour to make our stay comfortable. The location is perfect for hiking and within walking distance of Pearl St. shopping district. If you like the outdoors, I could not recommend the area enough. We could have done trails every day and not run out. The dining and general store on site was a nice luxury so we didn’t have to go far to eat if we didn’t feel like it.

United StatesParking. What else is there to say. In Boulder, parking is a challenge everywhere. On the plus side, my parallel-parking skills improved by an order of magnitude.
I didn't do breakfast during my stay. What I liked was the helpful attitude of the staff and the quiet environment. I really enjoyed sleeping-in to 08:00 every day.

United StatesOnly bummer was no cushion seating in the cabin or outside screened porch. After a long day, some cush for your tush is welcomed. Just sitting in bed was only option and then the pillows weren't supportive enough. Oh well...
Love the location at the foothills of the Flatiron Mnt. Close to all needs for both humans and dogs. The cabins were charming and fit the basic needs.

United StatesThe heat was a little hard to control. Our electronic key stopped working when we were trying to leave for early morning ski - we had to leave the cottage unlocked and wait for staff to reprogram key. They called us early afternoon saying they had locked the cottage and had a new key for us in the lodging office when we returned. Our front steps were also being worked on on the last day of our stay which was hard as that was our only keyed entrance.
We loved the location! Perfect for hiking and getting to UC Boulder Campus. The cottage was adorable. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen and bathroom just right for what we needed. Staff very responsive and wonderful. Loved the Dining Hall as well! Be sure to try the brussel sprouts!!!

United StatesThe internet can be spotty.
Chautauqua is a beautiful area in Boulder. The dining hall is excellent. There is a wonderful playground area if you’re traveling with children. The views are exceptional and plenty of hiking is nearby. It snowed while I was there and they quickly cleared paths from the front of the cottages. My grandkids came over to visit and loved all the bears dotted around that local artists had painted. Everyone working for Chautauqua is so helpful and extremely pleasant. I stayed in a one bedroom cottage. It was very comfortable and had everything I needed to make my stay pleasant. Looking forward to coming back.
