Smokers out on the deck area. Couldn't get away from them as they sat under the awning and smoke blew toward us almost everytime we went out there.

The location is perfect--in the center of St. George Island. Restaurants, bars, stores all within walking distance. Plus the beach access and view from the deck is superb. The pool is in an ideal location.

I could really handle there being a broom and dustpan in every room, we had to go to the front desk to ask to borrow it. They also do not come in your room and sweep or change the trash so we had to take our own trash out. We have spent four days or a week there are multiple times and this part is really inconvenient. It would be really nice if someone would come in and sweep the room everyday because we are beachfront and there is going to be sand, and if somebody were to take the trash out and take out the dirty towels and provide clean towels. Otherwise, it's very worth the cost and the experience is high level.

I am just in love with the Buccaneer. This place is wonderful for family, can fit into a budget, and is walking distance from anything you would need. The small island feel of Saint George island is something that keeps me coming back multiple times a year. The Buccaneer is old but it has been redone pretty well. Yes I think they could purchase some new beds that would be more comfortable, and I wish there were more kitchenettes available. However, it's beachfront with pool and it's walking distance from the park and basketball court, the lighthouse, restaurants, ice cream, stores for souvenirs. It's just wonderful and I would recommend it to anyone.

Rooms are a little outdated. Half the TV channels went out and didn't come back on during our stay.

We were thinking you. Might like to check how slowly to the toilet flushes: seems to take along time and a lot of water. And the faucet on the sink is hard to completely turn off.. it wants to drip. The little fridge is missing the racks on the door which would have made it better to use.

The location on the wonderful beach was exactly right for us: we were so happy to have sun a view from our room and a quick few steps to the beach and such a great place to walk !

The swimming pool was ice cold. They need to invest in a pool heater. Folks on vacation coming from the north would like to swim in Florida in the fall/winter months. Also they put us in a handicap room, which was like being in a hospital room.

They had a big Masonic group staying there. In the adjoining room to ours, the men had their tv on all night and you could hear it through the walls. When they checked out, I was finally able to get a good night’s sleep. They need some sort of dehumidifier for the rooms, the floor was wet and nothing would dry in the room. Bathroom was very small. The room smelled of disinfectant/bleach mixed with mildew. The cupboard with dishes had a strong odor of old paint. We usually don’t spend a lot of time in our room when on vacation, so the location to the beach made up for it. The bed was okay, had a small couch, tv and laminate booth style dining area with a small kitchenette with a mini fridge. We ate out most meals because it was not conducive to cooking. No coffee pot in the room! But they did have coffee in the office till 11:00 am. I won’t stay there again, but I will go back to SGI! It’s a beautiful island on the forgotten coast.

The ability to be right on the gulf side of the island and walk out to a private beach was amazing. Walking distance to restaurants and the lighthouse.

The deck had some loose boards and water started leaking out of the exhaust fan over the toilet.

Location is perfect. Enjoyed the free coffee and the staff was super helpful. The bed was comfortable and it was nice to have a sofa to sit on
