How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Everything was good. No complaints. Will be traveling back down soon and will stay again.
The room was spotless and clearly they have put thought into the details. For example, the towels in the bathroom were thick and soft and didn't smell like institutional laundry. I love that they put soap dispensers up on the in bathroom

Would have liked bed made up and pillow cases changed daily.
Owner and manager is a fine gentleman who takes great pride in keeping clean rooms and services. The excellent clean rooms and service are the best in 100 miles.

1. I paid online via booking, however once I arrived after driving 9 hours, the front desk attendant asked me for $20 cash deposit. Like seriously. I told him no, he then proceeded to come outside and ask my husband for the $20. We said no we don’t have cash! And we have 2 small kids and aren’t going to a atm at night. Then he proceeded to tell me check out is at 10:30am instead of 11am which it says on booking. I was really upset with him, I felt stereotyped.
The rooms were clean and looked exactly like the photos. The body wash in the bathroom was nice considering I forgot mine at home. Having a fridge and microwave is also a plus.

The blue light in the bathroom vent and the foggy/streaking mirrors. If you dont mind me saying, coffee filters work wonders in place of rags and paper towels when it comes to cleaning mirrors 🙂 As for the blue light in the vent..... I dont know what to say

All good!
Comfortable and clean room with everything I needed for a short business trip. The location was ideal for my needs, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurants and shops were within easy distance, and I was able to complete my business travel around the area with no problems at all.

The handrail going up to the second floor needed repairing and I'm not sure how clean the carpet was (it felt a little sticky to bare feet).
The room was large, well lit with comfortable beds (a little high which made it hard to get into). The AC worked well and there was no smell of smoke (although the detector had a plastic bag tied around it). The coffee maker, microwave & fridge were all clean and worked well and the coat hangers were appreciated. There were plenty of soaps, shampoo & lotion in the dispensers. Even the parking lot was swept and tidy.

The rooms were clean, nicely furnished and the staff was friendly. For the rooms low price, the cleanliness and the furnishings of the room was far beyond my expectations. I would book a room at this Budget Inn Lake Wales location again if needed.

It's a run down town, the area the hotel is in is ok. Enjoyed our visit and we'd stay there again, bathroom is a bit small but all in all , pleased.
The owner was very nice, and polite. Took care of anything we needed. Very clean room, and property was well kept. Very good value for your $$.

We were only given 2 towels for a 4 person room. When we asked for more for the children, they gave us a lot of trouble.

Cost, as with all accomodations, now, completely outrageous.
Room was updated with highest quality. We were pleasantly surprised to find the room in a class with luxury hotels, granite tabletops, new carpet, quality linens, etc.
