Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

United KingdomThe fire alarm went off at 4am on the morning I was due to leave. No guidance on what to do or where to go. Half the people staying there never even got out the building, management weren’t checking people have got out safely. Once issue was resolved still no further guidance if it was safe to go back ended up asking the fire crew and they said yes in the end it was a false alarm. The process was absolute shambles.
Great location, reasonable room and facilities, far enough out of the main centre not to be affected by night life noise etc

GermanyThe room itself was clean, a bit aged and battered but clean. The rest of the hotel while old, was VERY dirty! Hair in shower. Urine in unflushed toilet. We left after being woken up with COCKROACHES crawling on us in bed!! That’s really horrible.

New ZealandNot one to write a review usually unless its really good or really bad. I experienced the later. Its not a hotel-cross between a hostel! Old scary elevator took me to the top floor otherwise would have had to lug my bag up the steep stairs. Then I smelt strong smell of weed, musty smell in the private room booked. Dated bed cover, no power plug next to bed or table. The bathroom had the sink facing the window and mirror to the right above the toilet!!! Last point be aware of the wood just out from bed, I badly stubbed my toe (yes my fault) but still. Bad end to the stay. Does the trick but if you dont mind spending more money do so. This place is definately 1 star!!!

PhilippinesThe smell. There was a peculiar odor the moment you step inside the building. We couldn't understand what it was initially but we learned that its Marijuana. Yes, some of the reviews are correct, I believe they let some homeless people stay in the hotel but they're harmless. Just mind your own business, don't look them in the eye and they'll leave you alone. Cleanliness is non-existent. Our room floor seemed slanted. Our room was not cleaned during our entire stay. There's no complimentary bottled water. Bring flip-flops cuz I doubt if they ever clean the floors.
The location was excellent. There's a Trader Joe's and CVS at the corner, and a nice Taiwanese breakfast place a short walk away called Inga Donut. We just walked to Chinatown too. The staff is nice. The receptionist asked me which room I wanted to get (based on my room type of course) so I asked which one was the best (room 209) and he gave it to us. We booked a room with its own private bathroom - don't scrimp and just do the same if you'll choose this hotel. It will make your stay more bearable. Contrary to the other reviews there were no bed bugs nor loud music from the bar downstairs that we experienced. The bed was comfortable. There's a fridge and a microwave inside the room. If you need a hairdryer just approach the Front Desk.

United StatesParking is 2hrs at a time til 9p and Sundays. So IF you can find a space it can be a scarey walk to the hotel. Hand soap is not provided nor are hand towels & wash cloths. There is a ceiling fan but no heater. The neighborhood bar shares a common wall and is loud til 2am. The building is old so not all rooms have bathrooms but has cockroaches.
It was kitty-korner to Trader Joe's, on a Cable Car line, and close to Chinatown.
