How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Roadhouse type motel, old and not great quality of fittings. Not that cheap, but for this time of year in Palm Springs it probably was good value

The hotel outdoor hallways were torn up, worn carpeting- really unattractive and tripped several times; & there was no bottled water or vending available onsite.
There were no real amenities, but if you just want a nice affordable clean place to sleep- it's perfect. Walking distance to the Botanical Gardens, Caliente Tropics tiki bar & Sancho's restaurant and lots of other locations.

Could have used an extra trash can. Only one in the room. That's my only complaint
I booked a balcony king room. Large room, balcony overlooked the mountains. Nice morning breeze in the AM. Turned off the AC

Had a room with a full window wall along the walkway. Had to keep the drapes closed at all times or anyone walking by would see completely inside the room. I just prefer to wake up to the see some light but really couldn't.
Room was just fine for couple of nights while exploring Joshua Tree and surrounding areas. Felt safe here while traveling solo. Nice that there was a small refrigerator. Pool looked decent but didn't have opportunity to use that area. Very close to downtown, grocery stores, and other services. Walkable when not too hot.

I had made one request and was told it would be honored. A firm bed. It was not. The TV had no guide to look for channels, you had to discover them one at a time by scrolling up and down. When I asked about it, I was told, "Yeah, that's how it is."
Room was clean, and though on first floor next to parking, quiet. Low flow shower was more than adequate. Good towels. Good price. Good location, just South of Palm Springs Center.

We found the king size bed more on the too soft side for our liking. The room could use a fresh coat of paint.
I loved Steve’s personal doggy greeter. Steve was easy to talk to and available to help with trying to locate food eateries within walking distance. The room was spacious and I liked the separate toilet/bath/shower from the sink area. We liked the comfiness of the pillows. TV was functional.

Well could do with a little face lift - curtain was torn in room 140 - not much privacy when pulled the curtain so kept it closed and room was dark - some light bulbs needed replacing

The shower had some peeling paint in it.
Room was clean, decent size, and had been updated a little (they had replaced carpet with a hard floor, which is nice because it seems like carpet in older hotels is what retains old smells). For the low cost (it was less than half the price of almost everything else we found in Palm Springs that weekend) and some negative reviews, we were expecting a seriously grungy hotel room. But it was actually pretty nice. If you're only going to spend around $100 a night, don't be upset when you don't get the Ritz-Carlton.

The shower dripped and I told the front desk. They said they would send maintenance but no one ever showed up. After showering in the morning it wouldn't turn off all the way so was a steady stream. The room and bathroom weren't very clean. There was a rod sticking out from the side of the foundation of the bed that I tripped on. General conditions of the whole facility was outdated and run down.
Location and the price. The beds were comfortable.

The water in the pool was freezing even though it was a warm day.
Room was roomy and everything worked. having two double beds is a big plus.
