Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesParking is an issue in Old Town Key West. Streets are very narrow and many are one way. While the website does say they have four spaces that can be reserved on a first come first serve basis, initially we were somewhat put off the charge of $25/day. However "free" on street parking was almost non-existant from our observation during our four day stay in Old Town. Key West parking rates elsewhere were about $2.50/1st half hour with a maximum of $42/day. Keep this in mind if one is planning on taking the ferry to the Dry Tortugas or some other attractions such as the Butterfly Conservatory. By the end of our stay, we were glad we reserved one of the four spots available. For anyone who has their mobility compromised and cannot easily walk 6-8 blocks, we highly recommend reserving a parking space.
Location was exceptional for the price. Located in Old Town portion of Key West. Four top rated restaurants within short walking distance. Staff was gracious and responsive. This is a "guesthouse" type of establishment. Rooms tended to be on the smaller side. Our first floor room (our request for ADA reasons) was "cozy". There was a note in our room noting that "cozy" really meant small and to accommodate better, the bed had been raised on blocks to allow luggage to be stored under the bed. We requested a small step stool for my wife to get into the above standard height of the bed, which the staff secured for us. Breakfast is not an open buffet. Guests call the front desk and give their breakfast order from a simple menu, and your order of prepackaged food is brought to your room in a basket. There is a separate outside dining area on the lower level. There is also an Honor Bar in this area for sodas etc. Our room was "cozy" but comfortable and had both A/C and a ceiling fan. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again if we return to Key West. Location was exceptional.

United StatesHonestly, I can't think of anything we didn't like. Staying at Caribbean House is a happy memory for us. If we ever return to Key West, we would stay there again, and I would definitely recommend it to friends.
Definitely the location - everything was for the most part walkable to. Of course the room was "cozy", and the bathroom tiny, but it suited our purpose and was cute as could be. Breakfast choices were excellent. Very happy with our stay!

United StatesCould have benefitted from a fold up luggage rack. Water pressure was low. I understand that it’s an older home and sound is too be expected but still tricky to fall asleep and not be woken up by movement and outside noise.
Location was amazing and included parking was a selling point. Also the coupons were a nice touch and well appreciated.

United StatesAlthough we appreciated the cool air, the window unit had a constant dripping sound. Which may have blocked the noise of some of the rooster crows. However, one of the employees mentioned how there would soon be renovations to install quiet wall units.
Location was awesome! The morning breakfast offered was wonderful and had variety. The staff was friendly, efficient and informative. Offered fresh beach towels daily.

GermanyOur room was smaller than we thought. The owner knows about this problem and made extra space under the bed for the suitcases. Otherwise we would have had problems managing our luggage. It's nice that breakfast is included, but the selection is a bit small and can certainly be improved in the future. However, we really appreciated the free mimosas! Furthermore, breakfast starts at 8:30 a.m. This is very late in our opinion. Especially if you plan a boat trip, which often starts at 9 a.m., it is not possible to eat before. Therefore, breakfast from 7:30 a.m. would be much better.
The house and the terrace have a wonderful Caribbean flair that make you feel excellent! The staff is very friendly and the location of the Caribbean House is excellent. You can reach every important place within a few minutes. We also liked that cold drinks are always available at a good price. A free public parking lot is located very close on Fort Street.

United StatesRooms could be a bit bigger with an actual seating area, that was the ONLY drawback. There was only the bed to sit on and it was rather high, not easy for my husband to get on and off of.
The hotel was cute and charming. Very clean facility and room. The staff was SUPER friendly and attentive. Breakfast was provided and it was delicious! Bagels, pastries, cheese, yogurt, fresh fruit, juice and Mimosas! Cute little breakfast area. Overall, we absolutely loved the place!

United StatesI think we should have been notified that the room that we booked had no place to sit. It truly did not appear that way on the photos online when booking. We made due but it should have been made more clear before booking.
Loved the location of property and the breakfast!
