Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesTV options: Instead of lousy television options, would have appreciated Max, Hulu or at least Netflix. The only thing we were able to watch was The Office on Comedy Central, all other options were abysmally dispiriting and advertisements (unacceptable these days!). Noisy AC unit (though we at least were able to turn it off). No iron and ironing board in the room though plenty of room for one in the spacious closet. Safe in closet interfered with hanging space for clothes in the closet.
The location is excellent, on a tranquil, tree lined street a few blocks off of Dupont Circle, not far from Phillips Collection museum, our primary destination, quiet pleasantly walkable blocks to a variety of transportation and dining options, just a block from a bikeshare station with bicycles for rent that can be left at numerous stations conveniently located throughout the city. Staff was super friendly, professional and helpful! Breakfast at restaurant was delicious, served by gracious wait staff (only complaint, coffee was not hot). Our room was perfect, tastefully decorated as is the entire hotel, with beautiful fully tiled bathroom, incredibly comfortablr bed with variety of perfect pillows, screened windows that open attractive rugs, art work, neutral and tranquil. Our room was generous, very quiet and that was much appreciated! There was no street or other noise at all (only drawback was there was also no view of the location, only of the backs of neighboring buildings. No annoying ambient noise! Shower and rest of bathroom were excellent, a large space, tastefully and practically, thoroughly appointed with a large dressing room area, well lit mirrors. Beautiful, large wood headboards perfect accent to the mostly neutral, imminently restful, light, solid colors of the rest of the room, very clean, beautifully, thoughtfully appointed to the last detail, incliding convenient bedside light and charging plug options, shelves, luggage rack, cheerful tall red wooden sturdy stool, upholstered lounge chair with ottoman, round table and chairs for two seating area. Large closet with two beautiful green cotton, waffle knit bathrobes, multiple, various hangers to meet every need, top shelf motion detection light, heavy muslin spacious laundry bag. Noiseless small refrigerator (much appreciated). Loved the textured, beautiful and plentiful assorted sizes bath towels and soft cotton, chemical fragrance free bed linens!

The room has huge, much larger than we expected for a double queen. Bathroom facilities were great, very spacious with a decent shower. Onsite restaurant facilities were great for breakfast as well.

SingaporeLocation not so convenient for those who are not driving. It's not so near to the metro or any eatery. Need to walk a distance.
The room is spacious, cosy and tidy. Wifi in the room is fast compared to others.

United KingdomNothing. Thank you for an exceptional stay!
Beautiful hotel in a beautiful neighbourhood. The hotel is spotlessly clean, full of character due to its architecture, and has all the facilities you could need. Staff were all exceptionally helpful, polite and friendly. Rooms/ bed were extremely comfortable, quiet, with a good wifi connection. In-house restaurant/ food was very tasty.

United StatesWe were there for 12 days. The rooms did not have dresser drawers. No where to unpack your undergarments or clothing. We did get housekeeping to bring in an extra plastic vanity in the bathroom. So they tried to help. The room was small which we expected given the hotels age. However there was no seating where you can set and relax so you can watch TV. Or read a book. Also the tv was hanging on a wall to the left of the bed. It made it very difficult for two people to watch the tv. Since we were at the hotel for so long it would have been nice to have a comfortable space to relax after a long day of sightseeing. They do have a nice conservatory on the bottom floor. However the chairs there were not real comfortable. Also there was no TV down there. The first day the front desk did offer a little bigger room on the ground floor. We didn’t want to be on the ground floor but in retrospect perhaps we should have.
Location, staff, restaurant and bar. The hotel is in a wonderful neighborhood with great restaurants, relaxing area to stroll though. The food at the hotel was very good.

United StatesThe room heater was not working. We were not told this, until we called and they brought a small portable heater. No instructions were given as to how to operate the room heater or air. We had some complementary items in the room, but we were not told until we were ready to leave. There were no instructions in the room about how to call the desk, what was available to us, or would cost, i.e. the snacks and drinks frig. Ice had to be ordered from downstairs.
The room was immaculate. The bed was extremely comfortable. The location was fairly convenient to the sites in DC. The staff was wonderful. They were all friendly and helpful.

United StatesVery little storage for clothes and bathroom counter space was hard to navigate with health and beauty items. I had to pretty much operate out of a bag. Our window view was the side of a building, but we were in the room so little that that did not matter a great deal. Room refrigerator was too small to house boxed restaurant leftovers.
Very eclectic, excellent restaurant, staff members were all very helpful and friendly. Loved the location with access to the National Mall and many restaurants and shops nearby. Such a great and unique style!

United StatesThe AC didn't work and the air went thin. Fortunately we managed to open the window a bit but it was unpleasant. The carpet was stained could also use deep cleaning. The staff put a ventilator in the room but without fresh air input it was just moving the air so it was not really useful.
The room was nice and spacious enough for our family of 4. The bathroom and the kitchenette were very clean. The restaurant is nice and the price is adequate. We had the breakfast included in our reservation and we were pleased by it. The staff was nice and helpful.
