Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room had a fridge in it which is great. It was very noisy for some reason. The noise got worse throughout the night. Not sure why as we stored water bottles in it and the fridge worked perfectly well. Windows not so great so a lot of street noise. Especially early in the morning
Great location. Walking distance from where we needed to be daily. Good transport links. Easy to get to airport. Lots of shops nearby Clean and tidy room Coffee and drinks machine in downstairs reception area

SpainThe room was so small! The pictures definitely looked different. When I entered, it was cold, then I realized the windows were open. Of the 2 windows, only one was able to be completely closed. There's also no elevator, so if you have any luggage, get ready for a workout.
The location is great, close to some restaurants, bus and train stops. Check-in was pretty quick and smooth. The bed was comfortable, the room and bathroom were also clean and organized. There's also free high-quality coffee in the lobby, so that was much appreciated.

United KingdomThe hotel does NOT have a lift so if stairs are hard for you this is not a place to stay for you also upon check in the hotel will take a 60 dollar deposit from your card and it gets reimbursed to you 3 to 5 WORKING days later.
The hotel is a good budget hotel if you're looking to visit San Francisco, for 7 nights I paid 643 dollars for a twin deluxe room from the 1st to the 8th April, the rooms are basic but kept clean and tidy,it's also nicely situated not far from Alamo Square about 10 mins walk also not far away is Haight Street where there are plenty of restaurants and bars to drink in so all in all a nice place to stay.

SingaporeYou're gonna have to carry your luggage up the stairs because there's no elevator. The twin rooms with private bathroom have a little traffic noise which is bearable. A kettle in each room would be nice.
Excellent location with restaurants a few blocks down and a convenience store at the end of the street, very good value for money, the room was clean. There was a microwave and mini-fridge that makes everything convenient.

The location was great. While dated, the hotel was clean. The room was small but included a fridge and microwave. Plenty of hot water. Coffee maker in the lobby was a bonus.

Pricewise very good. Staffs were really nice. We had a microwave in the room and towels, very comvenient.

United StatesThe bathroom that came with one of our rooms wasn't amazing, as the toilet was pretty close to the wall, the sink was extremely small, and the shower door came unhinged with the shampoo dispenser being broken and leaking all over the shower floor. While the beds were comfortable, the pillows were extremely poor and had almost no stuffing, felt like sleeping on my own arms at times and need to use jackets just to prop my head up.
Needed a hotel last second in San Francisco and this place came in handy. The staff was very nice and the location was convenient, with lots of neat restaurants and places to visit within walking distance. The rooms were decently clean and had some nice amenities to them. I felt comfortable staying here, and would recommend for anyone who is on a budget.

Singapore- Black stuff in the shampoo and body foam containers. - No kettle - Some hairs on the towels. - Really noisy as my room faced the road. Honking all night. - Cleanliness is suspect. The carpeted floor just felt icky. And the edge of my cupboard is filled with rubbish that guests left behind.
- Price is considered good as SF is such an expensive city. I paid about 110 a night. This was one of the most value for money hotels I could find in the city that wasn't too far from tourist attractions. - The staff was polite. - The location is good. There are convenience stores nearby. McDonald's and an asian place are also walkable from the hotel. Take a bus to Golden Gate Bridge or park, about 3 miles or so away - Room has a fridge, plastic cups, microwave. Bed is okay. Towels provided. Hair dryer also. - big space. For 1 person, more than enough. Perfect size for a couple.

SpainThe building is old, it definitely needs an update, walls in the room were not spic and span, window was hold open by a wall mould piece, towels and sheets need a change they look old, the shower floor was hard to tell wether it was dirty or not since the grout is black, but little black things will come out when wet, unsure if it was mold.
Staff was very friendly, helpful and informative. Location was good, transportation around and also one can walk and get to Japantown, Divisadero with lots of places to eat, close to Golden Gate park and its museums.

CanadaOur room was so loud. There’s no individual heating/cooling ability in the room so we had to sleep with the windows open over a very very busy street, it was so loud. Bring earplugs. There’s no elevator, so there are lots of stairs which might be hard after a long day of San Francisco hills. Beds were tolerable. The water pressure in our shower was laughable. Even though we booked a room with private bath I went and used the shared showers because they were better than our private one. Coffee is only in the main lobby so you have to go downstairs and wait in line for a machine.
Good character and great location. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It felt very safe and secure. Fresh towels every day. Nice to have a fridge and microwave in the room.

PolandThe carpets in the corridors and rooms would need to be changed or cleaned.
It is difficult to find a budget hotel in the USA in a large city that is both in a good location and without major reservations regarding cleanliness and hygiene. In the case of this hotel, it can be said that it is good. Yes, it is an old building, a bit worn out. But the room was quite ok, the bedding and bed were great, maybe the furniture was a bit worn out. The shared bathrooms and hall toilets were clean and cleaned regularly. Free coffee is available in the morning for guests at the reception desk downstairs. Parking on the streets around the facility is free, you just need to follow the hours on the signs. It was possible to find a place.
