So I didn’t stay at the Cheers Hostel since there was no bed…they did move me to the other location to Salute Homes. Still they staff was great accommodating me! Now there is a slight language barrier so might need a translator app to help with conversations. But safe location and it was just want I needed. Just a place to crash and shower.

1 - We were a little surprised to have to remove our shoes on entry. 2 - The host seemed to hang around and although it was nice to have a chat sometimes she was there a little too often, and also knocked on our door around midnight when we were in bed to tell us there was a problem with her payment system and she needed cash before we left... A text message would have been fine. 3 - One of the other users had put the dryer on late at night which was just outside our room, which then encouraged the owner to out up some rules, one of which was no drinking anywhere in the house, which for me as a paying customer was a little strange, if I want to have a beer, I don't see why I shouldn't be able too.. 4- The rooms didn't have locks and there was no where safe to put your valuables. 5- I personally didn't really like the vibe in this hostel, but I think with time this could change. 6- There are cameras inside the hostel, maybe thats normal, but again, strange vibe. 7- The beds were cheap and uncomfortable - we had the private double room, 2 small beds for myself and my partner. which even together didn't allow you to move much, you kind of sank into the middle of the bed and were stuck. 8 - It was much further than i thought to most places in LA

The house is very new with a good space outside around the pool and a new kitchen which was good enough to cook breakfast. Its a new hostel and i'm sure once everything has been sorted out it will be a good place to stay.

Nothing to like, its located in dirty area. I know this because i live in the area and booked this place for some family that wanted to visit.

No customer service. Whoever managed this place does not have any concept that they were business as a service provider. They were rude, unprofessional and very challenged in the English language. This place looked like a boarding house in a third world country.

We had a confirmed reservation 3 days before when my husband contacted the property. Then we did not. We received a text message around 2pm the day of our scheduled arrival they did not have any room available and offered "relocation" to Beverly Hills for the same price. When we asked for clarification what happened, they simply ignored us.

it felt more like a house I was wandering into than a hostel. most of the people there only spoke Russian and there was no communication about what was available to me. usually you get a little tour when you first get to a hostel. I think my roommate lives there full-time given the stacks of books and clothes. he also snored and the bed was uncomfortable

The rate is different if booking via booking.com which is double price with working directly with the owner. It is complicated feeling, it is family style, so don't be surprised if a lot of owners usually go to your room to access the closet and the pool unexpectedly. you will share the room with four other people on bunk beds, you will hear people snoring, slamming doors, phone alarms ringing throughout the morning, and feeling the bed sliding both sides when people above or below you turning their back while sleeping. Also a young colored owner will watch you to remind (or alarm) you if you wear someone's slipper in the backyard or wash your dish after meal.

Safe location. A good chance to meet travelers from Russia or Ukraine because owners are Russians. I will book directly with owner if I have a chance in the future to stay in Northridge to save money.

They don‘t really have a Check in System. The Host gave us the wrong pin number for the front door. We tried the pin again and again but it didn‘t work. A man living in the hostel opened us the door and treated us as of we wanted to break in the house eventhough we showed him our booking. Apparently there are people (maybe Family?) living in the hostel that are very rude. They made fun of us behind our backs. One of the people living there told us the pin number for our room in front of all the hostel guests. We didn‘t feel secure. The people that live there are in the living room and kitchen all day long. The house has a weird vibe.

First of all no one was there to check me in. Phone numbers they have are not reachable. One has not set up voice mail, the other one are like talking within two people in car, and it is not in English. You can try calling the numbers they have posted on line. It is the most hot day of season. AC is not set properly. It was 80 F, I asked to set on cooler side someone set at 85 F. I asked agin to check and set at 77 F. Rooms are hotter than outside weather at nights. Even in living room some one was sleeping. I left the house at 4:00 am just because it was friking unbearable in the house. I advice anyone not to stay here.
