Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

United StatesThe second room mattress is well used and ready for a change. The rooms are beginning to look worn and in need of an update soon.
We wanted to switch to a quiet interior room after two nights on Lombard and we were able to change rooms easily once we made the request to the front desk. Once in the second room, the bathroom door was found to be very squeaky. I left a note for the housekeeper before leaving for the day and upon our return we found our door to be quiet! We were very pleased with the responsiveness of the staff. We like the generous size of the rooms which include a large desk with chair and an armchair. Plenty of drawer and closet space. Bathroom is good size with big counter space.

United StatesA refrigerator would have made everything perfect. Also, there was a power outage for about four hours, which of course is not the fault of the hotel, but the elevator wasn't working and the stairs were pitch black and creepy. But the guy at the front desk gave me a glowstick. :D
The room was great and I felt very safe and comfortable there. The woman who checked me in was really nice. Location was great for my purposes.

FranceThe building shows its age and though my room was located at the back, the windows did not shut out the noises of the lorry deliveries between 4 and 7 in the back street. That happened every night I was there.
Excellent location, you can easily park inside and it's a 5 mn walk from shops and restaurants, there is a great dinner's next door; it's 15 mn walk from the beach (with view on the Golden Gate Bridge). The room was well kept and comfortable. Lovely people at the reception.

Accessible to wharf, marina, Chinatown by walking...great restaurants and bars around....busy but quiet at night! Safe parking. Staff went over best places to eat and drink with a map, and a list of walking distance restaurants categorized by type of food with addresses, phones and emails listed. No surprise fees! A view of Golden Gate Bridge too!

United StatesThe rooms do not have a refrigerator or microwave, although we were informed that a refrigerator can be rented for an additional charge ($5 or so). No breakfast is provided. There are many restaurants in the neighborhood, though.
This is a nice hotel in a convenient location. The underground secured parking is a particularly nice feature. Rooms are clean and nicely appointed. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Even the rooms facing busy Lombard St were quiet.
