Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Good place to stay at SF. Very good location, 5 min walk to the pyramid. The service and facilities are good, which is very worthy to its price. There's self check-in machines at the lobby, very convenient.

United StatesFirst room had no windows that could open, and indoor air quality was toxic. Slept poorly. But was allowed to change to a room that had a window, which improved things.

NetherlandsThe fold out bed for the kid was pretty awful, and unfortunately right next to the loud AC unit. Furnishings were tired. The upper floors are maze-like, with weird carpeting that adds to the sense of disorientation.
Great location with easy access to many sites and public transit. Decent lobby with complimentary coffee. Room was spacious for downtown SF. Totally adequate for a night or two.

United StatesHowever, a couple of issues affected our stay. The elevator was surprisingly slow, stopping on nearly every floor despite a lack of passengers waiting. This was a minor inconvenience, especially during a one-night visit. Another drawback was the malfunctioning coffee machine in the room.
We recently stayed at a hotel in San Francisco's Financial District for one night, and overall, our experience was positive. The hotel's prime location near the Pier made it an ideal choice for our New Year's celebration and fireworks event. The quality-to-price ratio was excellent, addressing our primary concerns for the short stay. The room was comfortable, and the amenities provided a cozy atmosphere. The proximity to the waterfront added an extra layer of convenience for our New Year's plans.

United StatesThere is no mini fridge in the room which is terribly inconvenient since a lot of the restaurants in the area are take out only and we were eating mostly back in the hotel room. There is very little to no sound proofing. I could hear the neighbors late night conversations and snoring very clearly. To all of our discomfort, we could also clearly hear the business of whoever was using the bathroom. They made a great effort to be tech savvy in the lobby and have a semi self check out/in system but in the rooms that tech is outdated. There's no usb or usbc charging outlets. The price you're paying is more so for the convenient location than for comfortable amenities. They did have a beautiful lounge with free tea, coffee, and snacks but no breakfast or food options. The tea and coffee they offered was satisfactory but pretty generic and cheap overall. The hallways are tight, dark, and narrow and there were several inconvenient run ins with the employees carts who were trying to service rooms. Just limited space. If you are disabled or traveling with someone who has aids this could be especially difficult to deal with. Overall comfortable and pleasant but not the luxury experience they try to insinuate.
The room was clean and comfortable. The bedding was very soft and plush. The shower had great water pressure and a handheld sprayer which I always appreciate. The rooms are dark and have smaller windows but the bathroom had a very well lit mirror set up with a daylight bulb and the rest of the lighting the main room was a nice ambient gold tone. There was a Keurig in the room which was great for tea and coffee. The elevators require a room key to use which was a nice security feature. It's in a great location and most of the area around the hotel is flat and easy to walk with well maintained sidewalks and plenty of places to eat or shop. Most of the restaurants I went to however were to go only or had very very small areas for seated dining so we ate most of our meals back at the the hotel. I love that you can request services via text message. Our room didn't have soap and all I had to do was text the number my request and someone brought us soap fairly quickly. The refundable fee for potential damage was only $100 as of Dec2023 and not the atrociously high number I've seen in previous reviews. The wifi was strong.
