Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI did not know it was under a major remodel, so pulling up to the Hotel, it almost looks closed with all the scaffolding around the exterior. Our room overlooked the 101 frwy, with the ocean in the distance. There is freeway noise, wasn't a nuisance to me ,but if you are light sleeper, just know that side of the building does have freeway noise.
The room was nice with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was good. Very nice remodeling on the interior.

United StatesI knew there was construction, but didn't expect the entire hotel wrapped in scaffolding etc. Didn't create any problems with our stay, just was a shock to see when driving up to the hotel.
A comfortable bed, easy card access and that breakfast, wow. Well done. A special shout out to Gabriel who helped me at the hotel and was a very friendly front desk guy. The others were friendly as well, but Gabriel helped me get settled.

United StatesThe whole hotel is in renovation. After I booked, I realized many comments about the complaint of their renovation noise in the morning 8:00am. But I cannot cancel my booking.
The location is the best. Just 2-3 minutes off from 101 highway. It is very convinient.

United StatesOnly thing that is kind of not fun is if you are on the first floor you hear everyone coming in and out of the garage. The walls aren't the thickest but all in all if the place isn't busy it isn't a big problem
Breakfast was simple but worked, and it was nice to get something aside from just the room. WIFI was strong, the place is clean throughout. The staff was friendly I would definitely stay again. Parking is also a breeze.

United StatesConstruction was a bit inconvenient but not terrible. No construction on the weekend. They did say it started at 9 on weekdays, but the crew started around 8. Front of the hotel is a better location to stay away from highway noise.

DenmarkNo soundproofing! The neighbouring room had an alarm go off every morning at 6:15 and this person did not turn it off for at least 15 minutes, and because the walls were so thin, the sound woke us up unfortunately
The guy at the breakfast station was sooo nice! And breakfast was great as well - lots to choose between. The staff was in general really nice - we requested a room with view of the courtyard due to the construction, which a male receptionist noticed and thoroughly took care of! Room was classical american beige design, which was fine! Cheap as well

United StatesWhile the furnishings inside the rooms were comfortable, clean and well-furnished, the glass sliding door hardware was past its prime mechanically, esthetically, and quality. There was every indication that the previous hotel brand's quality has not been upgraded and modernized since the property assumed the name of the Amanzi Hotel. All of the glass door coverings and drapery were shabby and nearly inoperable. One of the most unpleasant characteristics of the otherwise clean bathroom was the presence of black mildew along the caulked seams in the shower. This was truly the most unappealing feature of our stay at the Amanzi Hotel. In addition and like the exterior sliding door to the balcony, the hardware was worn, aged, and the glass shower door itself was thin and an obvious safety hazard. It appeared that "some" upgrades had been made recently, i.e. the sink and countertop, toilet, wall art. Overall there were signs of "good faith" upgrades parallel and in contrast to dated, inferior, lack-luster remnants of another hotel chain's retro glory days. There is true potential! We will certainly and highly recommend the Amanzi Hotel to friends in the future--after the advertised upgrades have been completed.
Proximity to beach, Promenade, downtown Ventura, and family. Even though the hotel is undergoing exterior renovations the rooms, hallways, reception area were well-appointed. The presence and convenience of a breakfast room with a morning meal, plus late afternoon/early evening snacks and beverages, were very appreciated perks. Ninety percent of the reception staff was truly welcoming and willing to accommodate us throughout our stay. The housekeeping staff was efficient, friendly, and professional.
