The staff were incredibly helpful. I felt very safe, and it’s very easy to walk to the Amtrak Station and BART stop.

Although helpful, and friendly, the front desk staff was usually not at front desk when we arrived or when we went down for service. They'd appear after a minute or two, but we found that a little odd.

When we first arrived the front desk clerk was kind of rude and seemed like she’d rather be anywhere else. Upon closer inspection the room had a few spots that were less than clean, but nothing that interfered with the stay (just normal wear and tear and a few stains on the curtains?). I REALLY didn’t like that if valet parking is mandatory for any car and was $45 per day with an additional $8.50 city tax to park. I also paid when I booked my reservation on booking.com and then was charged again at the hotel and it took 4 separate phone calls to fix it, which could have easily been avoided if the front desk clerk who checked us in had paid attention when I told her I had already paid for it, but luckily it did get fixed.

For the purpose of my trip this hotel was perfect. I was graduating at a hotel across the street that was ridiculously overpriced due to the event and this hotel was actually a good value for the money. The room was clean and nice, beds were comfy, and Trey from the valet was awesome!!

Exterior signage too small & made property hard to find while navigating downtown traffic. Exterior seemed a little run down & lack of signage on doors made the building almost look vacant from street level. Would’ve liked to have had a microwave in the room. Furniture in room seemed ready to be replaced. Sofa was frayed at the seems. The room was hot, and I was not able to adjust the thermostat. Had to leave the window open to regulate the temp.

Conveniently located within walking distance to lots of restaurants. Room was comfy & clean. Common areas were clean and well kept. Given the area, I felt better having my car parked in a secured lot, and the valets were friendly and attentive.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The accommodations were clean, spacious and quiet. We were doing a trade show across the street at the Marriott City Center and much preferred staying at the Courtyard.

One of the rooms we got was supposed to have a foldout sofa, but it did not. But they did give us adjoining rooms, and that was a priority, so we went with it.

Very welcoming staff, and they were able to give us adjoining rooms for our family of 5.

Parking! There was limited parking. I had to check in late and there was no parking available. So I had to park at the Marriott across and walk to my Marriott late at night, wasn’t a fan of that.

No free breakfast -- the large public space on the main floor looked like a free breakfast area, but was actually a small Starbucks.

The Courtyard Oakland Downtown was the perfect spot for our family's one night stay in Oakland. The location was convenient, the front desk staff was helpful, check in was quick, and the on-site parking ($30 extra) was easy. Comfy, clean, quiet rooms meant a good night's sleep for all four of us!

Front desk woman clerk with a snooty attitude. I was standing at the front counter waiting for acknowledgment and I thought she was talking on the phone since she had an earpiece on and didn’t look up at me. She said I’m talking to you with an attitude without looking up to me. First of all, you’re supposed to look up awhile speaking to someone and I’m hard of hearing.
