It was Memorial Weekend, and we asked if there were any accommodations for veterans but the staff said no. We also had two different charges on our bank statement but the staff could not clearly answer besides telling us to wait a 5-7 days.

We had to pay the parking lot fee additionally. The price for daily parking is $30 a day. They didn't mention about the daily parking lot fee before booking.

Compared to other hotels, the price and quality was better. The location was not central in San Diego, so it is good to go other place.

The timing of the food service on the ground floor can be improved to cover the whole day.

The location was perfect, close to everywhere, almost equal distance to all the attractions. Fashion Valley was very close to the hotel where you can eat and do shopping. Marriott is my favourite hotel chain, you never regret choosing..

The breakfast as over priced. Asked for extra pillows and never received them. Paying for parking is outrageous and the fee is even more outrageous.

I don’t like having to pay $30/night for parking. There is coffee in the lobby, but no tea. It would be nice to have hot tea available too. The AC unit is too noisy. There is no fan in the bathroom. The mirror gets fogged up and bathroom smell lingers inside. Housekeeping is good in replacing toilet paper and facial tissues, but the hot coffee cups were never replenished. The USB charger next to the bed doesn’t work in our room #544. Need more USB chargers in the room. There should be USB chargers on both sides of the bed.

The people working at reception were great, especially Emily. She was friendly and always has a big smile on her face. She was quick to resolve whatever issue we had such as moving us to a different room away from the freeway noise.

We had a housekeeper who came to the room to make beds and give us new towels, everything that they do. But we were still in our rooms eating and told her to come back in a few minutes so we could leave. We left and went to Old Town. She never came back. I called housekeeping and left a message asking to give us fresh towels and take the trash. Never happened.

$30 parking rate/night for non secure lot is way too expensive. Needs fan in bathroom- very humid. Shower did not work well but hopefully that can be fixed.

Thing that stood out most is the difference from the interior of the hotel and the exterior. Interior was fairly clean, however, exterior was obviously not paid attention to. Trash around the hotel and worse the front entrance steps were ignored. Trash overflow around cans , lots of spills on the entrance. I reported to the front reception staff someone spilled some chocolate drink all over the steps and the can was still there tipped over. Young lady said OH, I’ll take care of that right away. It stayed there for two days. There is no second first impression.

We’ve stayed other years and did not have any problems. But the parking this year is as not great. Hot tub and pool always packed and the hotel did NOT keep enough towels at the pool so we had to go back to our room with NO towels

Our room seems to not have been cleaned properly as we found food crumbs in the bedroom carpet when we first walk in and the bathroom also seemed to have been hurriedly cleaned up as toilet tissue was not replaced , no shower mat and only 1 towel for three of us. Fitted sheet in both beds was inside out which making us wonder if it may not been replaced from the previous stay.

Staff at check in and check out was excellent , breakfast at the bistro also excellent, Elba was very accommodating and attentive.
