Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIt is a bit noisy (wooden floors/no insulation -- old building), but it's such good value! A bit more info about local facilities like laundromat, Neptune stores would be helpful. Not clear that shower downstairs is for #5 as well as #4; there is a small step in the middle of the sitting area just before that shower which should be marked with a white strip to warn you! But overall, really great!
Very clean, comfortably furnished, well equipped shared kitchen/sitting areas. Great location for airport (7m cab for $14 inc tip). Restaurant/groceries/laundromat/liquor store in walking distance. Nice quiet residential neighbourhood. Local Mexican food at Angela's Cafe is just fab.

United KingdomCouple of things, but really small - the side windows in the bedroom didn’t have curtains so the room was pretty bright early morning - on the first night we were woken up by a neighbour dispute, but happened once and didn’t happen again, the rest of the time it was relatively quiet
Really lovely property! - Great communication and clear instructions on how to get there from the airport to the property - Super clean and smells incredible as soon as you walk in - Room was v clean and the bed v comfortable - Shared bathroom, great shower and had products guests could use such as shampoo etc - coffee station downstairs to use which was great in the mornings - location is a little out of the city but really easy train ride to get downtown (short walk and 10 min ride)

United StatesI’m not a city girl, so the price was shocking, while extremely reasonable compared to our other options. BTW, the Uber from the airport came in north of $30 because of surge pricing - and was just over $15 on the way back, both more than the estimates in the listing.
It was everything they promised with some very sweet touches (nicely furnished with comfortable mattress, pillows and duvet, convenient spaces for bedside stuff, plus coffee, books and info) that we didn’t expect.

AustriaThe WiFi was a joke. The speed was not even 1MB/sec which made it impossible to do anything with it beyond messaging and emails. Additionally, the location was less advantageous than I had expected. While it is technically close to Logan Airport, it actually would have been faster the just hop on one of the many busses and go straight to South Station. Hence, while the place was cozy, next time I would likely rather stay close to South Station after arriving for a late night flight.
Nice place, 20min from Logan Airport (by free shuttle + walking). The single room was tiny, but overall the place including the spacious kitchen was very cozy and I enjoyed staying there for one night. (it's recommendable in particular if you have 1 night right before an early morning flight). Important: Make sure you catch the free shuttle bus to "Airport METRO station" (not airport TRAIN station), and DON'T take the Silver line, as the SL1 and SL3 are different lines.

United StatesThis didnt bother me but I felt like I should note it because it's a good thing to know when booking a place. like most houses in Boston, it is a bit on the smaller side when it comes to common spaces. there are about 5 pretty steep stairs leading into the house that can be tricky to get through with luggage because of the two doors you have to go through. also 3/4 bedrooms are up an internal set of stairs and one of the bathrooms is in the basement. Also, while the house is overall clean and definitely didnt feel dirty, there is some deeper cleaning that could be done. Like the baseboards, a few walls, and some other general places could probably use a dusting but all high touch areas and general spaces were clean.
Overall my stay was great. I was in town for work during the Boston Marathon and the location is pretty good. It is very close to the airport and not far from downtown Boston. I didn't use the T during this visit due to time limitations I had when moving about, but the directions on maps made it seem like it would be easy to get around from the house. Ubers to the airport were about $15 and to the out near the Commons were about $20-$30, but it was a peak weekend where the prices were higher due to demand. Being so close to the airport there were times where there was noise from planes but that is to be expected and it didnt bother me at all. The neighborhood is quiet and I felt safe as a solo female traveler which is very important to me. Check in instructions were clear and easy to follow and the rooms were clearly marked. I would stay here again.

United StatesFor the price, I think it was perfect.
This private room with shared bath was immaculately clean. The shared bath looked as if I were the first and only person using it although I heard at least one other guest moving a suitcase. How did the owners train all the guests to be so considerate when using the bathroom? I was there only for the eight hours before my early morning flight. The price was super-reasonable for the night after the Boston Marathon. I had a very good night's rest on a comfortable bed. I took the subway to the Logan MBTA terninal from Boston and then took an uber (~$10 including a 15% tip each way) to get to the property late at night. An MBTA employee told me the area was safe even at night and so walking would have been an option. The owners were also exceptionally responsive and also proactive in providing information on the stay. Thanks!
