How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We loved the friendly lady at the front desk. She was so helpful and pleasant. The breakfast area was very clean and well organized and the lady working the kitchen was very nice. The man cleaning the bathroom and later vacuuming the front area was also helpful and friendly. The people working made our stay very pleasant.

Staff is wonderful, very accommodating and efficient! The breakfast is also great even for a hangover lol. This was my first time using the fitness room and I was impressed, very neat organized and they have more equipment than most hotels I've stayed at! This is by far the best hotel in lead, I recommend staying here to anyone and everyone! Thank you to the staff for the amazing stay I appreciate it!

Unfortunately, at this property you can here everything in the next room through the walls. There was no sound barrier between our room and the room next to us and we could hear little sound.
Very beautiful property with a great breakfast and comfortable, clean rooms.

Can't think of a thing.
Everything was pleasant & I really appreciated that they allowed my dog to stay as well. They even had 2 places (one on each end of the building) for me to take my dog out so she could relieve herself. Great views & very nice decor. Got to park inside a garage at no charge.

The hotel is exceptionally clean and comfortable. The covered parking accommodations are a plus! The kudos definitely go out to the staff! Background - We were displaced from our original accommodation due to an emergency evacuation. After completing an online reservation I called and explained our situation to Liz. She assured us we could come right away, eat breakfast, and expedited our room with housekeeping so we could check in early, and complete our day. Liz at the front desk was hands-down one of the best ever encountered! Every member of the team during our stay was incredibly helpful and friendly! I’ve been in customer service for over 20 years, and Liz is exceptional at what she does!

From Thursday to check-out on Sunday we never had housekeeping services. On Saturday afternoon we asked at front desk for fresh towels and bath mat and shared having had no housekeeping services. The staff on duty confirmed on a sheet of paper he had saying “yes you were never checked off”. No explanation, no apology and no offer to have housekeeping come in. We carried our towels and bath mat to room. Upon check-in we discovered cold and hot water lines on sink were crossed so sink was opposite. We discovered this after calling front desk, instead of sending up maintenance the gentleman who was working front desk and checked us in arrived. My husband explained he “figured it out” and lines are hooked up backwards. Nobody from maintenance ever arrived during stay to switch the lines. Hard to believe we would be the only guests to mention this to staff. Also the “complimentary” shampoo and conditioner containers in shower were empty. The body wash container had wash in it.

It was hard to reach the hotel to get my bill straightened out. But we did get the issue resolved.
